Cal Crutchlow teases MotoGP colleagues with special "Yacht" photo

– MotoGP is in the summer break and the social media feeds of the riders currently look surprisingly similar: sun, sea, yacht, plus a shirtless holiday photo. Whether relaxed days in the Mediterranean or luxury in a dreamlike setting, many riders let their fans share in the break.

One who comments on the trend with a wink is none other than Cal Crutchlow. The Brit, known for his dry humor, also posted a “yacht picture.” However, one that does not fit the usual summer posing at all.

“I just wanted to share my yacht photo during the MotoGP summer break to do the same as the other riders!” writes Crutchlow on his Instagram post. In the photo, the 40-year-old is sitting in a small fishing boat on a rather gray-looking sandy beach in typical Irish miserable weather.

He can’t resist adding a postscript: “Sorry I didn’t take off my top to flex my abs. It was just too cold.”

The photo does not show a polished, glossy influencer staging, but wonderfully mocks the yacht snapshots of his colleagues. Typical Crutchlow: self-ironic, dry, and with exactly the dose of British humor for which fans have appreciated him throughout his entire MotoGP career.

But not only the fans celebrate him for this in the comments. KTM rider Pedro Acosta writes, for example: “You are my hero, mate!” Yamaha rider Fabio Quartararo also shows amusement and comments briefly and succinctly: “Number 1!”

Since Mugello, Crutchlow has been stepping in for the injured Johann Zarco at LCR Honda. The three-time MotoGP winner was already known during his time as an active regular rider for giving interviews without PR clichés and never taking himself too seriously. Apparently, nothing has changed over the years.
