– The future of the Italian Grand Prix has received a solid foundation. The responsible consortium of Parco di Monza and the Italian Automobile Club ACI have sealed the extension of the track concession until December 31, 2044. This gives the location the necessary planning security to permanently defend its place in the steadily growing and fiercely contested Formula 1 race calendar.

With the long-term duration comes an extensive investment package. By the end of 2029, around twelve million euros are to be invested directly in the infrastructure of the circuit. The goal of those responsible is to gradually adapt the aging facility to the modern standards of the premier class without sacrificing the unique character of the historic circuit in the royal park.
The focus of the upcoming work is primarily the paddock. The existing pit building as well as the adjacent service facilities will be fundamentally renovated and modernized to meet the space requirements and logistics of the World Championship.
Visible improvements are also planned for the spectators on site: In addition to the expansion of the grandstand, a renewal of the lighting systems and adjustments to the safety fences are on the agenda.
Another main focus is on the technical infrastructure of the race track itself. To make the area more resilient to extreme weather events in the future, the drainage system will be brought up to the latest standards and the sewer network expanded.

For ACI President Geronimo La Russa, the extension is an enormously important milestone for all Italian motorsport: “With the extension of the concession until 2044, we give our growth path further stability to continue to be a global point of reference,” he says.
“These are not just numbers, but safer infrastructures, more modern facilities, and better services for the teams, the drivers, and the fans who fill the stands every year.”
At the same time, La Russa makes clear what the core focus of the responsible parties is in the upcoming modernizations: “To ensure that Monza remains forever a fixed, unique, and irreplaceable part of Formula 1 – and to hand over an even more beautiful, safer, and more competitive Autodromo to future generations.”

After the first infrastructural adjustments of recent times, Italy thus sends a clear signal towards Liberty Media. The most traditional high-speed circuit on the calendar is preparing for the future to assert its status as the home of the Italian Grand Prix for the coming years.
