(Motorsport-Total.com/Motor1) – After months in crisis, Stellantis is back on a growth path. This is the most important conclusion from the recently published report for the first half of 2026. According to it, the group’s global deliveries increased by eleven percent in the first six months of the year. This corresponds to about 294,000 units more compared to the first half of 2025.

Overall, Stellantis delivered 2,958,000 vehicles worldwide between January and June 2026. The results also include all Leapmotor models sold outside China.
For reasons of detail, however, I focus on the first quarter of 2026, as more information broken down by countries and brands is available for this period. In addition, the data I collected for the individual markets mostly refer to sales, private customer business, and new registrations – as opposed to deliveries, i.e., new vehicles invoiced to third parties such as dealers, importers, or end customers.
The growth drivers
In the first quarter, at least four of the six most important Stellantis brands recorded strong growth. Fiat took the lead thanks to a 16 percent increase compared to the first quarter of 2025. The Italians (including Abarth) sold around 324,000 passenger cars and light commercial vehicles between January and March, increasing their global volume by about 44,000 units.

Part of the positive result is explained by the comparison with a particularly low base in the first quarter of 2025, when Fiat struggled with a significant decline in Europe. Added to this are the strong sales launch of the Grande Panda in Italy and still solid results in Brazil – despite increasing competition from Chinese brands. These two markets were able to offset the lack of growth in Turkey and the slowdown in Argentina, which are Fiat’s third and fourth most important markets after the EU+United Kingdom+EFTA region and Brazil.

Ram was also among the main growth drivers. Global sales are estimated at 152,500 units, an increase of 18 percent. This is mainly due to significant progress in the USA and Mexico. The latter has overtaken Canada and become the brand’s second most important market. The return of the V8 engine has boosted the popularity of pickups again.
Citroën and Opel also contributed to the good results. The former brand achieved double-digit growth rates in Europe and Turkey, its two most important markets, in contrast to double-digit declines in Brazil, Argentina, and China. Opel, in turn, increased its volume by nine percent – mainly thanks to the good contribution of the Frontera. Europe accounted for 87 percent of the brand’s global sales.
In contrast, Peugeot, Chrysler, Alfa Romeo, DS, and Maserati recorded declines.
