JP Performance: Is JP Kraemer moving to Schwerte with the "JP World"?

(Motorsport-Total.com/Motor1) – JP Kraemer could be on the verge of one of the biggest steps in his entrepreneurial career. The Ruhr Nachrichten report that the founder of JP Performance has purchased a large plot of land in the neighboring town of Schwerte. A new “JP World” is to be built there. Radio 91.2 has also picked up the information and reports on far-reaching relocation plans.

According to the information known so far, it is about much more than just a new workshop. Large parts of the company are to move to Schwerte. Mentioned are, among others, workshops, the PACE Automobile Museum, as well as other business areas. The new site on the A1 is supposed to offer significantly more space than the previous locations in Dortmund.

If this proves true, it would be a significant cut for the Dortmund location. JP Performance has been based there for many years and has built an entire network around the company headquarters including workshop, museum, gastronomy, and other businesses. So far, there has been no statement from JP Kraemer or JP Performance regarding the reports.

Surprising turn after million-euro project

The news is quite surprising. Only at the beginning of the year, we reported on Kraemer’s plans for the former Dortmund nightclub “Rush Hour.” A large indoor kart track with hotel and gastronomy was to be built there. Kraemer then estimated the investment volume at around ten to eleven million euros.

If the current plans are implemented, the question automatically arises as to how this project will proceed. It is also unclear what role existing facilities such as the PACE Automobile Museum or Big Boost Burger would play in the future.

Why the move?

The “Ruhr Nachrichten” cite a strained relationship with the Dortmund city administration that has existed for some time as the background. According to the report, Kraemer does not feel sufficiently appreciated with his company in Dortmund. Instead of his economic importance, the negative aspects of the tuning scene are often the focus.

Many reasons still speak for Dortmund

The timing is also interesting. Only in spring, Borussia Dortmund and JP Performance presented a joint collection and emphasized their close connection to the city. A few weeks later, Kraemer also worked together with the Dortmund fire department on a video project for the anniversary of the emergency services.

JP Performance and JP Holding are still registered with headquarters in Dortmund in the commercial register entries. Nevertheless, the reports about the property in Schwerte are causing plenty of discussion. What plans JP Kraemer is actually pursuing is likely to become clear in the coming days.
