The cooperation with the Taiwanese design studio Rough Crafts is not a spontaneous idea. Royal Enfield first showcased the motorcycle at the EICMA motorcycle show in 2025. In the EMEA region, sales began on July 27 at 7 p.m. CEST. In Germany, the special edition costs 10,150 euros.

A show bike becomes a small series

The basis of the special edition is the Shotgun 650. The model is aimed at riders who want to customize their motorcycle. Royal Enfield therefore regularly uses this platform as a basis for modifications. Together with Rough Crafts, the custom bike “Caliber Royale” was created, whose design has now largely been adopted into a limited small series.

Rough Crafts is one of the best-known names in the international custom bike scene. The studio from Taiwan is known for its minimalist style, which combines dark colors, high-quality materials, and clean lines. This signature also characterizes the special edition of the Shotgun 650.

Black, gold, and many exclusive details

The paintwork combines glossy “Jet Black” with matte “Stealth Black.” A narrow gold leaf stripe with a gray accent runs over the tank and fairing. Added are a hand-cast brass emblem, black bar-end mirrors, a quilted genuine leather seat, light alloy wheels with contrast grinding, and gold-colored fork inner tubes. Each motorcycle also carries an individual number on the tank.

This makes the special edition differ not only visually from the regular Shotgun 650. It adopts numerous details directly from the show bike “Caliber Royale” and aims to bring its character as authentically as possible to the street. According to Royal Enfield, the versatility of the platform is the main focus. The edition is meant to show how differently one and the same motorcycle can be interpreted.

Extras for the garage

The delivery includes not only the motorcycle. Buyers also receive a numbered art print with a golden drawing of the “Caliber Royale” on a black background. The motif comes from Rough Crafts founder Winston Yeh and bears his signature. Royal Enfield last presented both motorcycles together with Yeh at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2026.

The real special feature, however, remains the low production number. Only 100 units are produced worldwide, of which only 25 are for the EMEA region. Thus, the “Shotgun 650 x Rough Crafts” is likely not intended as an everyday motorcycle but primarily appeals to collectors and fans of extraordinary special models who value exclusivity and individual design.
