– Formula 1 rookie Arvid Lindblad crashed his Racing Bulls car on Wednesday after the Suzuka Grand Prix and damaged the front of the VCARB 03. The Briton went off during the tire test by manufacturer Pirelli, which is holding a rain test on the Formula 1 track in Japan this week.

In addition to the Racing Bulls, Red Bull also remained in Suzuka to support Pirelli in testing the new tires. Since it rained on Tuesday and Wednesday, the Italians were able to take the opportunity to continue researching intermediates and rain tires.
On Wednesday, however, the action was interrupted by an accident involving Lindblad, who aquaplaned with his car and slid into the track barrier. The front of his vehicle was damaged, but not so severely that the rookie could not have continued the program in the afternoon.
Lindblad had completed one run on dry tires and one on intermediates on the second day, during which the accident occurred. Later, he was out for four more runs on rain tires and drove a total of 299 kilometers.

The previous day, teammate Liam Lawson was in action, having completed twelve runs on rain tires and four runs on intermediates, totaling 378 kilometers.
On Tuesday, Lawson and Red Bull driver Isack Hadjar initially completed a program on rain tires, after the track was still quite wet due to heavy rainfall during the night. Some of the tires also featured a different tread pattern than the regular homologated rain tires.
As the track slowly dried in the afternoon, they switched to intermediates before another rain shower put an end to the action. Hadjar, who was also in action again today, Wednesday, completed 69 laps (401 kilometers) in his RB22 on day one.

Teammate Max Verstappen was not in action during the test drives.
