Marc Marquez (Ducati/1st): “As I said yesterday, the first corner was the key. That worked again. However, today I made a big mistake because I forgot to deactivate the rear ride-height device. When exiting corner 1 towards corner 2, it was still activated. This made me very slow in the fast corner 2 and 3, and two riders were able to overtake me.”

“After that, it got more difficult, but I just built up my rhythm. In the first laps, it was a nice fight. Then I tried to control the race. When I saw how many laps were left, I attacked, created a gap, and then managed it.”

Pedro Acosta (KTM/2nd): “I said yesterday that I would try it in front of the Spanish fans. I wanted to give everything, even if it meant making a mistake. That’s why I am very satisfied. We worked extremely hard. As I said in Silverstone, it seems like we keep improving throughout the weekend. I am very happy about that. We haven’t been on the podium for a long time. Now it’s time to enjoy it. And then we’ll see if we can improve anything for Misano.”

Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia/3rd): “I am very happy and satisfied because it was a tough but great weekend. I am very happy about my first MotoGP podium here. I love this track, but for some reason, I have never been really fast here before. This weekend we worked well, I got the pole. I knew my pace was not the best, but I gave everything yesterday and today to get on the podium.”

“The scene with Marc was cool. I heard his bike in corner 15 and tried to cross the line. When we were side by side, the slipstream affected us very strongly. That was strange but also nice. Marc was simply unbeatable with his experience and today’s speed. It’s a pity that I lost the position directly to Pedro. I probably would have lost it anyway, but I would have liked to fight a little longer. Still, I am very, very happy.”

Aldeguer finishes his first Grand Prix race in two months in a strong sixth place. Di Giannantonio is seventh. Bastianini still overtakes Moreira and takes eighth place. Binder completes the top 10. The remaining points go to Miller, Mir, Rins, Marini, and Zarco.

Quartararo ends up behind the replacement riders Pol Espargaro and Savadori in 18th and last place. Once again, a wasted weekend for him.

The world champion completes the double victory in Aragon and wins the Grand Prix after the sprint. Thanks to the maximum points haul of 37 points, he is now second in the championship, only 19 points behind Martin. Acosta is a strong second. Bezzecchi takes third place ahead of Alex Marquez and Martin.

Two laps remain. Razgatlioglu is the next rider to crash and retire from the race. He was in the last points position, which Zarco inherits.

Marc Marquez still leads 1.6 seconds ahead of Acosta. The gaps behind are also large. Only between Bastianini and Moreira does it remain close. Behind them, Miller and Binder fight for the last spot in the top 10.

At the front, the gap between Marc Marquez and Acosta has settled at one and a half seconds. Bezzecchi seems no longer able to challenge Acosta. His deficit is growing. There is no threat from behind.

At the end of the top 10, Bastianini shows a strong final phase. He has left Miller and Mir behind and is now fighting with Moreira for eighth place.

Now Marc Marquez makes the difference and burns the next 1:46 into the asphalt. His lead grows. Acosta cannot keep up. He has to secure himself against Bezzecchi, who is just eight tenths behind. For Alex Marquez, the podium is currently out of reach. He is three seconds behind Bezzecchi.

With a high 1:46 time, Marc Marquez can create some breathing room at the front. With ten laps remaining, he now has a half-second lead.

Half of the race distance is completed. Marc Marquez leads ahead of Acosta, Bezzecchi, Alex Marquez, Martin, Aldeguer, Diggia, Moreira, Miller, and Mir. The remaining points positions are held by Bastianini, Rins, Marini, Binder, and Razgatlioglu. Zarco is currently in 17th place after completing his double long lap.

With 1:47.073 minutes, Marc Marquez sets the fastest lap time so far in lap nine and can distance Acosta a bit. However, the KTM rider cannot be shaken off yet. Bezzecchi holds third place seven tenths behind. Alex Marquez and Martin follow at a distance of one second each.

Acosta can keep up surprisingly well and sticks to Marc Marquez’s rear wheel. Could he challenge the world champion here? Bezzecchi has to let go a bit.

In corner 15 of the sixth lap, Marc Marquez attacks and passes. Bezzecchi resists but then has to give way and also let Acosta through, who uses the opportunity of the double slipstream and also slips through. This leaves Bezzecchi only third. Meanwhile, the field is thinning: Bagnaia and Morbidelli have crashed, Fernandez has gone to the pits.
