(Motorsport-Total.com/Motor1) – The Toyota Corolla will have been produced for 60 years in 2026. With over 57 million units sold worldwide since its initial launch in 1966, the model series is considered the best-selling car. On the occasion of this anniversary, the manufacturer is launching a special edition for the body variants Hatchback and Touring Sports wagon offered in Europe.

Currently, the Toyota Corolla is manufactured at twelve locations worldwide and sold in a total of 150 countries and regions. For the European production of the model series now in its twelfth generation, production began in 1994 in Turkey, before the manufacturing site in the United Kingdom was added in 1998.
The anniversary models of the Corolla bear the designation “60th Anniversary” and are characterized by specific equipment and design features. This includes the exclusive paint “New Boreal Blue” with a black contrasting roof and correspondingly dark A-, B-, and C-pillars. Alternatively, the metallic colors “Platinum White Pearl” and “Ash Grey” are available.
The special models roll on newly designed 17-inch alloy wheels in a ten-spoke design with matte and gloss-turned surfaces and chrome black wheel nuts. Matte silver accents are found on the lower front bumper, side skirts, tailgate, and rear doors. Inside, specific door sills with logo lettering and black textile floor mats with silver inserts are used.
Under the hood, fifth-generation hybrid drives operate. Both the Hatchback and the Touring Sports are available with two engine options: a 1.8-liter hybrid with a system output of 140 hp and a 2.0-liter hybrid with 180 hp.

The standard equipment includes a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster and the infotainment system “Toyota Smart Connect” with a 10.5-inch touchscreen including cloud-based navigation. The safety equipment includes the driver assistance package “Toyota T-Mate” or “Toyota Safety Sense”.
This includes, among other things, a pre-collision system with intersection assistant, an adaptive cruise control, a lane keeping and lane tracing assistant, an emergency steering assistant, as well as traffic sign recognition. Updates for the system are carried out via over-the-air updates.
Order start and prices
The anniversary series is now available for order, with the first deliveries starting from November 2026. The starting price for the Corolla Hatchback in Germany is 36,990 euros for the 1.8-liter hybrid and 38,890 euros for the 2.0-liter variant. The Touring Sports wagon starts at 38,590 euros (1.8 liters) and 40,490 euros (2.0 liters). According to the manufacturer, this results in a price advantage of up to 1,200 euros compared to the “Teamplayer” trim level.
