(Motorsport-Total.com/Motor1) – The Hyundai Ioniq 3 is now available for order. Prices start at 28,950 euros, with the version featuring a large battery costing at least 32,950 euros. In total, five trim levels and eight exterior colors are available.

With a length of 4.16 meters, the Ioniq 3 appears as a compact electric five-door. Technically, it is based on the E-GMP platform with front-wheel drive and 400-volt technology. There are apparently many similarities in the drives and batteries with the new Kia EV2. Depending on the version, up to 497 kilometers of range according to WLTP are possible.
Visually, the “Aero-Hatch” is strongly oriented towards the concept shown by Hyundai at the IAA. An important innovation in the production model is the Pleos Connect infotainment system. Surprisingly, the small instrument display is not standard in all variants. From a safety perspective (high distraction risk), this is actually an absolute no-go.
Exterior and Space
With a length of 4,155 millimeters, a width of 1,800 millimeters, and a height of 1,505 millimeters, the Ioniq 3 remains clearly below the SUV format. The wheelbase measures 2,680 millimeters. Hyundai states the trunk volume as 441 to 1,213 liters. Included is the 119-liter underfloor compartment called “Megabox”.
In design, Hyundai focuses on optimal aerodynamics. The low front directs air to the flat-angled windshield, while the roofline runs almost parallel to the ground far to the rear. This is intended to benefit both aerodynamics and interior space.

The cW value is 0.263. This is contributed to by an optimized underbody, air curtains, controllable cooling air intakes, and aerodynamically optimized wheels. The front adopts the current Hyundai design language with a narrow light signature. Four light points recall the “H” in Morse code.
Interior and Pleos Connect
Pleos Connect makes its debut in the cockpit. The Android Automotive-based system comes standard with a 12.9-inch touchscreen. The narrow 9.9-inch instrument display directly in front of the driver is only available from the Trend trim upwards. In the N-Line versions, the central screen grows to 14.6 inches.
This marks Hyundai’s departure from the previously typical two equally sized displays found in many other electric models of the brand.
For the interior, Hyundai follows a “Furnished Space” concept, intended to resemble a living room. Depending on the trim, features include Relaxation Seats with heating and ventilation, a Bose sound system, dual-zone climate control, and ambient lighting.
Drives and Batteries
At market launch, there are two battery sizes. The Standard Range version has an approximately 42 kWh battery with LFP chemistry and delivers 108 kW (147 hp). The Long Range variant has about 61 kWh and uses NMC cells. Here, 99 kW (135 hp) are available.

The maximum DC charging power is 119 or 110 kW depending on the version. Charging from 10 to 80 percent should take 29 or 30 minutes respectively. AC charging is up to 11 kW, with an optional 22 kW available for the Long Range version.
Additional features include Plug & Charge, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), and an integrated electric vehicle route planner.
Prices and Equipment
The Standard Range version is only available as Select and Trend. With the large battery, N Line, Prime, and N Line Evo are additionally available.

The base version already offers 16-inch alloy wheels, LED lights, front and rear parking sensors, rearview camera, dual-zone climate control, smart key, adaptive cruise control, and blind spot assist.
From Trend upwards, 17-inch wheels, the instrument display, seat and steering wheel heating, a battery heating system, and wireless smartphone charging are added. Heat pump and Type 2 charging cable cost 1,000 euros each as a package for Select and Trend.
The N-Line version gets 18-inch wheels, a distinctive design, and the 14.6-inch screen including navigation. The Prime version offers similarly extensive equipment, supplemented by matrix LED headlights and a Bose sound system. The N Line Evo adds 19-inch wheels and artificial engine sound.
Other available aids include Highway Driving Assist 2, a surround view system, blind spot warning, and Remote Smart Parking Assist.
The Hyundai Ioniq 3 was developed in Europe and is built at the Hyundai plant in İzmit, Turkey, about 100 kilometers southeast of Istanbul. Hyundai has not yet announced exactly when the first vehicles will be delivered.
