(Motorsport-Total.com/Motor1) – Polestar presents the second body version of the Polestar 4. As already known, the Polestar 4 SUV mainly has a steeper rear window and more trunk space. The latter is about 130 liters larger than the Polestar 4 Coupé when the rear seats are folded down and loaded to the roof height.

New is also the Vehicle-to-load function (V2L). This allows external consumers to be supplied with up to 3.3 kW (16 A single-phase, 230 V). In addition, a camping mode is introduced: This allows climate control and lighting to be controlled directly via the touchscreen. So you can leave them activated at night. Both functions are to be made available to older Polestar 4 vehicles via a software update. It remains open whether this will be an over-the-air update and when it will be available. In addition, the suspension and steering have been newly tuned. As with the Coupé, a Performance Pack with adaptive dampers from ZF is offered.
The dimensions are similar to the Polestar 4 Coupé, but the height is about two centimeters greater. Significantly more trunk space is only available if the rear seatbacks are folded down and loaded up to the roof:
| Length | Width | Height | Wheelbase | Trunk | |
| Polestar 4 SUV | 4,840 mm | 2,139 mm | 1,556 mm | n.a. | 530-1,665 liters15 liters frunk |
| Polestar 4 Coupé | 4,840 mm | 2,139 mm | 1,534 mm | 2,999 mm | 526-1,536 liters15 liters frunk |
Unlike the Coupé, there is no rear-facing camera on the roof. Instead, the SUV has a conventional interior mirror and a rear window. The latter is slightly curved and equipped with a wiper. Optionally, there is a camera-based interior mirror. In addition, the SUV comes standard with a roof rail and a glass roof with adjustable transparency. There are also new wheels, tires, and exterior colors including matte finishes. The striking gold-colored paint is omitted.
As with the Coupé, a 100-kWh battery with cell-to-pack technology is installed; the cells come from CATL. As with the Coupé, you can choose between a rear-wheel drive with 200 kW and a twice as powerful all-wheel drive. All motors are permanent magnet machines (PSM); in the all-wheel drive, the front can be decoupled via a “Disconnect Clutch.” The sprint values are slightly worse than the Coupé versions. The maximum range is said to be about 630 km – that would be even 10 km more than the Coupé. Here are the key data:

Noticeable is the higher trailer load of the rear-wheel drive; here 1,500 kg are specified for the Coupé. Charging is standard with 11 kW alternating current and up to 200 kW direct current as with the Coupé; optionally there is a 22-kW onboard charger for faster AC charging. The specified DC charging time of 30 min is also identical.

In summary
The expected second body variant of the Polestar 4 brings little surprise. Drives and batteries are taken from the Coupé, the trunk is larger, and unlike the Coupé, the SUV has a rear window. New are mainly the V2L function and the camping mode. Prices are not yet known. However, they are likely to remain close to the Coupé. The Coupé is available as a rear-wheel drive for 61,900 euros, as an all-wheel drive for 69,900 euros.
