Now that the 8 Series has also been discontinued, rumors of a return of the 6 Series are intensifying. Should this happen, the model is likely to adopt the design language of the Neue Klasse. New, unofficial renderings already show how convincing this combination can look.

When BMW relaunched the 6 Series in the early 2000s after a decades-long hiatus, it was initially available as a coupé and convertible. A long, luxurious Gran Turismo with genuine performance aspirations, which was later supplemented by a sedan and a station wagon before BMW finally pulled the plug on the model.
The renderings by sugardesign_1 on Instagram show a new coupé with BMW’s current front design, and surprisingly, it harmonizes excellently with the sleek silhouette. The narrow grille openings with integrated headlights blend harmoniously into the lines, and the front looks significantly less bulky than on the new i3.
The rear may not be quite as pleasing as the original 6 Series, but it convinces with a powerful, sporty appearance. There are no big surprises here: narrow taillights and a smooth diffuser complete the picture.

Motor1 Conclusion: With each new model, BMW’s Neue Klasse design language is likely to mature further and perhaps shed some of its previous bulk. The renderings certainly show that the new BMW style has real potential. All the more exciting it will be to see how it performs in reality, and especially as a coupé.
