– Nicolo Bulega had little time to celebrate his triple victory at the Balaton Park Circuit in Hungary. With now 16 consecutive race wins, the Ducati rider has set a new record in the Superbike World Championship, surpassing Toprak Razgatlioglu (13 wins).

Originally, it was planned that Bulega would test the new MotoGP Ducati with 850 cubic centimeters displacement for the new 2027 regulations for the first time on Tuesday (May 5) in Mugello (Italy).
Due to an unfavorable weather forecast for Tuesday, the test was moved forward to Monday. Therefore, Bulega had to set off by car from Hungary to Italy late Sunday afternoon.
The route through Slovenia is about 850 kilometers. Bulega reached the Mugello race track in Tuscany early Monday morning. Nevertheless, the 26-year-old was able to go on track on Monday.
Honda had rented the race track for private test drives. However, Honda did not drive this time with the new prototype for 2027. KTM was also on the track with test riders Dani Pedrosa and Jonas Folger.
Folger will return to a race in MotoGP next weekend. The German replaces Maverick Vinales at the French Grand Prix in Le Mans, who is still recovering from his shoulder operation.

There is no official information about this private test in Mugello. Amid negotiations between the manufacturers and the promoter MSEG, Ducati has imposed an “information blackout” for all news related to 2027.
Therefore, neither the contract extension of Marc Marquez nor the signing of Pedro Acosta, which is already finalized, has been announced.
Likewise, there is no information about the development status of the new 850cc prototype GP27 under the new technical regulations for the upcoming season. All leaked information should therefore be treated with caution.
The only one who leaked images is test rider Michele Pirro in a video on his social media channels. This happened even though the Italian only got on the motorcycle on Tuesday and was initially only able to complete a few laps in the rain.

Our Italian colleagues from GPOne.com have obtained some information from Mugello. Bulega is said to have completed 20 laps on Monday afternoon, with a personal best time of 1:47.2 minutes. Ducati will not conduct any further tests with the new motorcycle until the end of June.
