(Motorsport-Total.com/Motor1) – Volkswagen is revising the interior of the ID.3 Neo, focusing on higher quality, the return of physical buttons, and a significant technology upgrade. The facelift brings a series of targeted improvements aimed primarily at enhancing ease of use and everyday practicality – from the newly designed cockpit to the optimized sense of space in the rear.

The cockpit of the ID.3 Neo continues to evolve overall without completely overhauling the basic layout, but it brings concrete improvements. In front of the driver is now a new, larger, and more configurable digital display measuring 10.25 inches with several display modes.
Particularly notable is the so-called “Retro Mode,” which recalls the instruments of the legendary Golf 1 – a detail that gives the otherwise very modern environment a nostalgic touch.
In the center is the infotainment screen with 12.9 inches, which is now said to be more responsive and feature-rich. The system includes connectivity services for ten years as well as its own store, through which apps like Spotify or YouTube can be downloaded. Also new is the digital vehicle key in the smartphone, which allows the car to be opened and started without a physical key.
The biggest change, however, concerns ergonomics: physical controls for the climate control return below the touchscreen. The often-criticized touch surfaces on the steering wheel disappear in favor of classic buttons. And finally, there are four window switches. Additionally, a rotary controller for operating the multimedia system is added to the center console – a simple but effective solution that improves usability while driving.
Volkswagen ID.3 Neo: Materials and Workmanship
One of the most frequently criticized aspects of the first ID.3 was the perceived quality. With the Neo, Volkswagen has made significant improvements: more robust materials and neatly joined surfaces are intended to convey an overall noticeably more solid impression.

The plastics remain but feel higher quality and look the part, especially in the upper area of the dashboard and on the door panels. The upholstery has also been improved, with more attention to detail and more harmonious color combinations.
The newly designed center console integrates an inductive charging pad for smartphones and features a large storage compartment. This is intended to increase the everyday practicality of the ID.3 Neo’s interior.
Volkswagen ID.3 Neo: Space and Trunk
One of the strengths of the ID.3 Neo remains its generous space offering. Despite a length of 4.29 meters, the wheelbase of 2.76 meters allows for space comparable to models from higher segments.
The arrangement of the electric components with a rear motor and rear-wheel drive allows the passenger compartment to be positioned further forward, optimizing space utilization for passengers.
The trunk offers a volume of at least 385 liters. This value is within the usual range for the class and is made well usable by the largely regular shape of the loading area. Additional storage space for charging cables or smaller items is available under the load floor.
