– Fernando Alonso was once again spotted in Monaco driving another vehicle from his extensive car collection. The two-time Formula 1 world champion was seen on the streets of Monte Carlo behind the wheel of a rare Porsche 918 Spyder.

Introduced in 2013, the 918 Spyder is a plug-in hybrid with a mid-engine. It is powered by a 4.6-liter V8 engine with 599 hp, supported by two electric motors with an additional 282 hp. In total, only 918 units were produced.
Additionally, the model was the first production car to lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife in under seven minutes. The current value of the vehicle is estimated between 1.8 and 3 million euros.
Fans react to sighting in Monaco
The sighting sparked reactions on social media. One user wrote on X: “This guy has the Gran Turismo garage in Monaco.” Another commented: “I wish all car enthusiasts could afford a 918. The rest is secondary!”

Alonso’s remarkable collection
The Porsche 918 Spyder is part of the Spaniard’s remarkable collection. According to reports, the collection also includes the other two models of the so-called “Holy Trinity,” a McLaren P1 and a LaFerrari.
Furthermore, a one-off Pagani Zonda 760 and a street version Mercedes Benz CLK GTR are counted among his collection. The Aston Martin driver also owns several vehicles from the British brand, including a custom-made Valkyrie, a Valiant, a DBX 707, and a DBX S.
Monaco prepares for Grand Prix
Alonso’s “appearance” comes at a time when Monte Carlo is preparing for the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix. Around the track, corresponding billboards are already visible in the principality.
The team from Silverstone has had a difficult start to the 2026 Formula 1 season. Alonso currently ranks 22nd in the drivers’ standings with zero points, directly behind his teammate Lance Stroll in 21st place, who also has no points.
