Under the program item DTM Classic, the DTM offers show runs of the legendary racing cars from the over 40-year history of the DTM on all three event days. But which cars can fans look forward to?
From classics like the Mercedes-Benz 190 E and the BMW M3 to the Ford Sierra of the 1980s to the manufacturer prototypes of the new DTM after the re-establishment in 2000, everything is included in Oschersleben.
“Baby-Benz” in the original design of the 1987 season
The Mercedes 190 E 2.3-16V from 1986 is the oldest car in the field. The so-called “Baby-Benz” started in 1987 with Ludwig Weber and is still on the road today in the unchanged original design from back then.

At that time, the Mercedes entry was already implemented as a factory commitment.
But the big archrival of Mercedes, the BMW E30 M3, must not be missing at the DTM Classic in Oschersleben. The vehicle is even represented multiple times.

From “Cossi” to sound monster Abt Audi TT-R
But not only the German manufacturers shaped the old DTM – Ford also played a big role. Before his great Mercedes era, Klaus Ludwig won the title in 1988 in the Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth. The “Cossi,” as the car was affectionately called, was especially powerful thanks to its turbo engine, which is why the technology was later banned in the DTM.
A big crowd favorite was also the Opel Omega Evo 500 from the early 1990s, which will also be represented in the starting field.
Fans can also look forward to the DTM era after the turn of the millennium: Because Audi was not yet represented as a factory team in 2000, the year of the series’ re-establishment, Abt independently brought the Abt Audi TT-R to the start. A specimen that was driven by the Brit James Thompson at the time will be seen in the Magdeburg Börde.
When the DTM Classic will be on track in Oschersleben
But Stefan Mücke must not be missing at the DTM Classic either: He will drive an original AMG-Mercedes C-Class from 2005, with which he was already active during his DTM career.
When will the legendary cars be seen? The schedule in Oschersleben provides for a total of six appearances: On Friday (July 24) the DTM Classic sessions start at 1:45 pm and 5:00 pm, on Saturday (July 25) at 12:00 pm and 5:15 pm – and on Sunday (July 26) at 11:25 am and 4:30 pm.
