DTM implements a new concept in Oschersleben: Award ceremony in the fan area!

– Exceptional opportunity for DTM fans at the upcoming DTM weekend in Oschersleben (all info on TV times, stream etc.): For the first time this year, the award ceremony of the traditional series will take place in the middle of the fan zone. This means that not only team members can cheer on their drivers, but also spectators.

While the award ceremony at the Motorsport Arena in Oschersleben has always taken place on an asphalted area at the beginning of the pit lane, to the right of the pit building tower, in recent years, it is now moving to the other end of the pit complex, just before the first corner.

The venue is the so-called “Petersplatz”, as the open area between the paddock grandstand and the pedestrian bridge at the end of start-finish is called. The cars of the top 3 will be pushed into the fan zone after the race, where the Parc Ferme is also located this year. Right next to it is a newly created area for the award ceremony, where the podium will be set up.

Why the award ceremony is moving in Oschersleben

Already at the ADAC GT Masters, which took place a week and a half ago as part of the Truck Grand Prix at the Nürburgring, the ADAC opted for an award ceremony on a stage in the middle of the fan zone – and had good experiences with it. Why wasn’t the previous location of the award ceremony at the beginning of the pit lane next to the Parc Ferme entirely optimal? Unlike most other racetracks, spectators in Oschersleben at start-finish do not sit on a classic numbered grandstand, but it is a standing area.

However, the more attractive standing places are closer to the first corner, which means that the area opposite the award ceremony is usually not as well attended, which affected the atmosphere. That is set to change this year.

Strong ticket sales despite loss of season opener

Especially since the great spectator interest in the DTM continues: While at the Norisring, all numbered grandstand tickets were sold out on both race days for the first time in many years, and the event attracted a total of 118,500 spectators, ticket sales this year are apparently also going very well in Oschersleben.

And this, even though the race no longer hosts the season opener as in the past three years, and the date also falls in the middle of the holiday season. According to the ADAC, compared to 2025, Oschersleben is heading for a significant increase – as with all previous season races.

The paddock grandstand in the first corner, which was set up as an additional grandstand for the first time last year, is already sold out – and the other numbered grandstand seats are also almost gone, according to the ADAC. As a reminder: Last year, a cumulative total of 47,000 spectators came to the DTM in Oschersleben on all three event days.
