MotoGP Practice: The Conditions
One hour of practice is now on the schedule for MotoGP. This time, the field mostly goes out with the hard front tire. At the rear, we see a mix of soft and medium. The weather remains sunny, the air temperature is now 23 degrees, the asphalt 46 degrees. In addition to working on race pace, the premier class is also aiming for Q2 entry.

Moto2 Practice: Holgado with Best Time
In Moto2, Daniel Holgado finishes Friday practice as the leader. With a new track record of 2:01.815 minutes, he narrowly beats Senna Agius, who is a tenth of a second behind. Manuel Gonzalez is third, followed by Alex Escrig and Izan Guevara.
The second half of the top 10 is occupied by Barry Baltus, Daniel Munoz, Mario Aji, Celestino Vietti, and Ivan Ortola. He and Alonso Lopez in eleventh place cause crashes, but still advance directly to Q2, as do Sergio Garcia, Filip Salac, and Colin Veijer in twelfth to fourteenth places. Tony Arbolino narrowly misses out in fifteenth.

Moto3 Practice: Perrone narrowly ahead
The Moto3 afternoon practice ends with a best time of 2:09.568 minutes, set by Valentin Perrone. He narrowly tops the session ahead of Scott Ogden and Veda Pratama. Brian Uriarte is fourth and is still within just a tenth of a second of the top.
Casey O’Gorman, David Almansa, Maximo Quiles, Alvaro Carpe, Adrian Cruces, and Joel Esteban secure the remaining top 10 places. Eddie O’Shea, Marco Morelli, Adrian Fernandez, and Ruysei Yamaha also advance directly to Q2 behind them, with the top 14 separated by only 0.676 seconds. 19 riders are within one second.

Baggers FT1: Granado leads session
The Bagger World Cup is also back this weekend as part of the support program. Thanks to wildcard starter Bradley Smith, the field has grown to eleven riders this time. In the first free practice, Eric Granado sets the best time with 2:10.523 minutes. Oscar Gutierrez takes second place, with Smith starting strong in third. Jordi Torres and Archie McDonald complete the top 5.

MotoGP FT1: Alex Marquez stays ahead
Nobody can beat Alex Marquez’s best time. The Gresini rider remains ahead with 1:58.692 minutes. Bezzecchi holds second place, Acosta improves to third and breaks the 1:59 mark.
Raul Fernandez and Di Giannantonio complete the top 5, separated by only 0.364 seconds. Marc Marquez leads the second half of the top 10 ahead of Ogura, Martin, Morbidelli, and Bagnaia. Mir is the best Honda rider in eleventh place. The first Yamaha follows with Quartararo in fifteenth place. He is 1.306 seconds behind.
MotoGP FT1: Final phase
The order before the last run in this session: Alex Marquez, Bezzecchi, Raul Fernandez, Di Giannantonio, Marc Marquez, Martin, Morbidelli, Bagnaia, Mir, and Ogura. The latter has fresh tires on. Acosta is also back on track after his crash and has fresh tires. The rest of the current top 10 are on used tires.
MotoGP FT1: A few improvements
In the second run, most riders are on used tires. Bezzecchi can still improve and is the new second. He is only 0.173 seconds behind Alex Marquez, who still holds the best time. Di Giannantonio has placed himself as the new fourth behind Raul Fernandez.
MotoGP FT1: First Crash
Acosta causes the first crash of the session in turn 15. It’s a front-end slide at high speed, but Acosta is okay. Nevertheless, he cannot continue directly and has to return to the pits by other means.

MotoGP FT1: Interim Standings
After six laps, the first riders finish their run and turn into the pits. After a brief Aprilia triple lead, Alex Marquez has moved back to the top. He is the first rider with a 1:58 time.
Raul Fernandez is the first pursuer, 0.329 seconds behind. Martin, Bezzecchi, and Marc Marquez follow behind, but are already more than half a second behind.
MotoGP FT1: The Tires
The field has gone out with the medium tire on the rear. On the front, we mostly see the soft compound and only occasionally the medium variant.
For the moment, Alex Marquez leads with 1:59.436 minutes ahead of Raul Fernandez, Acosta, Mir, and Marc Marquez. But the order changes with each lap.
MotoGP FT1: Finding the rhythm
The next 45 minutes on track belong to MotoGP. It is still dry, the air temperature is 19 degrees, the asphalt 33 degrees. In the first practice after the three-week summer break, the main goal is to get back into rhythm, even if many riders have already prepared themselves on production motorcycles in recent days.
Moto2 FT1: Gonzalez dominates
In Moto2 this morning, championship leader Manuel Gonzalez clearly has the upper hand. He dominates the session and finally tops it with a best time of 2:02.333 minutes, almost half a second ahead of Barry Baltus in second place. Filip Salac in third place is already 0.774 seconds behind.
Daniel Holgado is fourth, Izan Guevara fifth. Behind them are Senna Agius, Alonso Lopez, Tony Arbolino, Sergio Garcia, and Celestino Vietti. David Alonso finishes a distant 17th after a crash.

Moto3 FT1: Almansa with first best time
Friday practice starts in sunny and dry conditions. In Moto3, David Almansa secures the first best time with 2:10.553 minutes, four tenths ahead of Scott Ogden, who moves into second place at the end. Adrian Fernandez is third. Joel Kelso and Marco Morelli complete the top 5.
Championship leader Maximo Quiles is relegated to seventh place behind Veda Pratama after a late slide. Alvaro Carpe, Hakim Danish, and Valentin Perrone occupy the remaining top 10 places, which are separated by 0.907 seconds at the end.

Four Replacement and Wildcard Riders in Silverstone
At the 2026 British Grand Prix, there are several changes in the MotoGP field: Yamaha test rider Augusto Fernandez receives his fourth wildcard of the season.
Iker Lecuona replaces the injured Fermin Aldeguer at Gresini, Pol Espargaro steps in for Maverick Vinales at Tech3-KTM. Cal Crutchlow also remains in the field as a replacement for the injured Johann Zarco. It is already his sixth appearance since Mugello.
MotoGP extends with Silverstone until 2028
Even before MotoGP visits the Silverstone Circuit for the 26th time this weekend, the contract extension with the traditional race track was announced on Thursday. This secures the race’s place on the calendar until at least 2028.
The next British Grand Prix will again take place in August 2027. Last year, the event attracted almost 100,000 spectators.
