– The Nürburgring is an indispensable part of the DTM racing calendar: The Eifel circuit is the only racetrack where at least one DTM race has been held every season so far – whether on the short link, where the DTM will also be hosted in 2026, on the GP variant, or on the legendary Nordschleife.

Over the years, almost 100 DTM races have been held in the Eifel, and a total of 22 drivers have celebrated more than one victory. Among them are former DTM champions Mattias Ekström, Martin Tomczyk, and Sheldon van der Linde, each with two Nürburgring wins to their name.
However, to break into the current top 10 of the most successful DTM drivers at the Nürburgring, at least three wins are required. This milestone has been reached by former champion Bruno Spengler, Laurent Aiello, and Alessandro Nannini, among others.
Schubert drivers with a successful Nürburgring history
This year, there are two drivers in the current starting field who have already triumphed twice at the Nürburgring and with another win would also join the ranks of the most successful DTM drivers in the Eifel: namely the two Schubert drivers Marco Wittmann and Kelvin van der Linde.

The BMW drivers are hunting for their third win at the Nürburgring this season. Wittmann was successful in the BMW M4 DTM in 2014 and 2016 and wants to end his now ten-year dry spell at the foot of the Nürburg. Van der Linde, after his two Audi wins in 2021 and 2024, now has his sights set on the first BMW triumph.
With Lucas Auer (Landgraf-Mercedes) and Miko Bortolotti (Grasser-Lamborghini), there are also two current drivers who have at least one Nürburgring win to their name and could also reach three wins with a perfect weekend and two victories, although statistically this is rather unlikely.
