Layout for new MotoGP street circuit unveiled
This morning, the layout of the new MotoGP street circuit in Adelaide was unveiled. The 4.13-kilometer-long track with 15 turns is set to host the Australian Grand Prix from 2027.
The project, costing around 60 million euros, envisages a top speed of approximately 343 km/h. The intervention in nature is causing discussions: 377 trees are to be removed, and in return, around 3,770 new plantings are planned. 95 percent of the currently 8,895 trees in the track area are to be preserved.
Environmentalists recently protested against the project. A petition against the construction was signed by around 43,000 people.

Marquez: Attack in Turn 1 decisive
Marc Marquez secured his sprint victory yesterday with a decisive maneuver in the first corner. The Ducati rider outbraked polesitter Marco Bezzecchi and took the lead. Alex Marquez also took advantage of the situation and moved into second place.
«When I saw that Marco started with the soft tire, that was the only chance to attack in the first corner. That was my plan,» Marquez explained. Bezzecchi had to settle for third place but was satisfied with the result.
Tire choice played an important role: While the two Aprilia factory riders opted for the soft rear tire, the Ducati riders relied on the medium compound. Marquez explained that the soft tire was not an option due to possible graining. For Sunday’s Grand Prix, Marc Marquez expects another important first corner.

Plenty of racing!
Here we go into race Sunday in Aragon! After his sprint victory yesterday, Marc Marquez is naturally considered the favorite. The question is whether he can surprise Marco Bezzecchi at the start similarly to yesterday, and then pull away.
In addition to MotoGP, the smaller classes are also holding their Grands Prix today. The day begins, however, with the second race in the Bagger World Cup. Andrea Iannone prevailed here yesterday. As always, we will follow the action on the track throughout the day in our ticker.
