As planned, KT Racing Studio released the big Season 7 update for Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, which players have been waiting for since the Season 6 update at the end of March and the Season 6 update 1 in early May.

The perseverance of the TDU community is rewarded with a comprehensive update that includes numerous revisions, bug fixes, and general improvements as well as vehicle-specific and platform-specific measures. The official changelog, which can be found below the Season 7 launch trailer, provides detailed information about the individual measures. It also contains an overview of known issues.

What Season 7 brings to players

In addition to a handful of new vehicles – Nissan GT-R R34 Skyline V-Spec II (2002) at Solar Pass Level 15, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IV (1998) at Solar Pass Level 50, Mazda Efini RX-7 Series 6 Type-R (FD3S) (1994) (Asian Dealership), Nissan 370Z Nismo Phase 1 (2011) at Solar Pass Level 1, BMW M4 GT3 EVO (2025) in the online store, and Volkswagen Beetle Buggy – Holiday Edition (1972) aka Cox Baja Vacaciones in the online store – the gameplay is especially enhanced with improved Daily Challenges, Live Events, and new weekly Challenges, additional Car Delivery tasks, Taxi missions, and Detective events to provide new incentives to play.

Improvements in the game world and driving feel, such as through the new tire model for hypercars, updated construction sites, physical speed cameras on Hong Kong Island and Ibiza, the Solar Arena (formerly ORC) with updated track layout and pit lane, new landmarks in Hong Kong, and improvements to the northern/northeastern areas of Hong Kong, also demonstrate the developers’ efforts to keep the player experience fresh.

Problems persist, hotfix coming, and gesture of goodwill

Two days after the release of the current version, the developers announced on Friday, September 4, 2026, that a hotfix is already in development and that further information will follow next week. It was confirmed in advance that the hotfix will add the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series to the German Performance car dealer and that they are looking for a way to increase the Solar Pass XP earned outside of the Live Tab Challenges by at least a factor of 3, while still ensuring meaningful game progression.
