– Izan Guevara will be one of five rookies in the MotoGP field in the 2027 season. The Spaniard has been part of the Yamaha junior team Pramac in the Moto2 class since 2025. In 2025, Guevara celebrated his first Moto2 victory at the season finale in Valencia and was rewarded with a private test on the MotoGP Yamaha with an inline four-cylinder engine.

In the current Moto2 season, Guevara has so far won in Le Mans and shown very good consistency overall. He finished the first 13 races in the world championship points positions. His worst results were two seventh places.
In the world championship standings, Guevara is the first pursuer of Manuel Gonzalez. Due to his development, the 22-year-old is promoted by Yamaha to the premier class and will ride the M1 in the satellite team Pramac next year.
“He has made a huge step,” praises Pramac team manager Gino Borsoi to MotoGP.com, “especially since the beginning of last year. He has completely changed his attitude and training approach.”
“I can say, he is a different person. Now he has everything to show his speed. He has the right mentality to get into MotoGP. I think he is also ready to fight for the Moto2 world championship title.”
“We know it is difficult. We are really far from the top, from Gonzalez, but you must never give up.” After 13 of 22 races, Guevara is 32.5 points behind Gonzalez.
Guevara already has the experience of a world championship duel. In 2022, he prevailed in the Moto3 class against his Aspar teammate Sergio Garcia and became world champion.
That Guevara now has the MotoGP contract in his pocket is the most important step of his career: “For me, it is a dream come true. I am very happy and want to thank Yamaha and Pramac for trusting me.”

Why it will be easier for Guevara according to Razgatlioglu
The Pramac team will therefore consist of Toprak Razgatlioglu and Guevara next year. “He deserves the MotoGP spot,” says the Turk about his future teammate. “And besides, it is good that he is young.”
“We need the young generation for the future. But we will see. It is good for him that he came through Moto3 and Moto2 and is now coming into MotoGP. His riding style is already like a MotoGP style. That is good.”
Because Razgatlioglu has internalized the Superbike riding style and continues to work on adapting to MotoGP. The switch from Michelin to Pirelli tires should make it somewhat easier for him next year.
But this also applies to Guevara, who has known the Pirelli tires since 2024 from Moto2. “I think that will be easier for him,” believes Razgatlioglu. “There is also a new engine that is closer to Moto2. He is switching to MotoGP at the right time.”
That is also the reason why there will be five rookies in the field in 2027, as many as there have not been for several years. The hopes at Pramac are high that Razgatlioglu will also take off in his second season.

“Toprak knows the tire. He has a great chance next year because he can immediately show his speed,” believes Borsoi. “This season is a tough season. Everyone knows we are in trouble because our motorcycle, let’s say, is still in development.”
