– The final checkered flag of the Nordschleife season 2026 has not yet fallen, but the focus is already on the coming year: The Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) has officially presented its race calendar for 2027. A total of eight races are on the program.

The upcoming season marks a double anniversary: While the popular grassroots racing series celebrates its 50th anniversary, the Nürburgring also reaches a special milestone. The legendary race track turns 100 years old – and this anniversary is to be celebrated properly in 2027.
To provide teams and drivers with early planning security after the discussions and excitement of recent weeks, the organizers have already finalized the calendar for the anniversary year and agreed on the corresponding framework conditions.
Specifically: The NLS season 2027 includes eight races. The program features a double-header with two four-hour races on one weekend as well as the traditional 6-hour race as the season highlight. The two races of the 24h qualifiers will no longer count towards the championship next year.

And: The 24h Nürburgring Series originally planned for the 2027 season will be postponed to 2028. The Nürburgring Endurance Community (ILN) welcomes the number of races. “This gives the NLS participants the much-needed planning security for the upcoming season,” says ILN chairman Martin Rosorius.

“In connection with the 24-hour race in the ‘Green Hell’ and the associated ‘Qualifiers’ weekend – which is also expected not to count for the NLS – there is a variety of dates at the level of the current season. And from the perspective of ILN members, this represents a good solution regarding the number of races.”
However, the season starts already at the end of March, before the second race is scheduled for April. The season finale is planned for early October. Only the early scheduling currently causes some discussion within the ILN.
“The weather risk in the Eifel repeatedly leads to races not being able to take place, especially in March and late autumn,” says Rosorius. “This is as frustrating for the participants as it is for the organizers, the marshals, and of course the fans. Here we demand a more sensible distribution of dates in the interest of all involved.”
