MotoGP live ticker Misano: Bezzecchi just ahead of Marc Marquez on Friday

On this training Friday, it was mainly Marco Bezzecchi and Marc Marquez who battled for the top spot. Sometimes one was ahead, sometimes the other. Alex Marquez also looked strong and could still have a say in this constellation.

For the moment, Bezzecchi seems to be the only one who can seriously challenge the Ducatis. Whether this will be confirmed tomorrow will be shown by the last training, the qualifying, and finally the sprint. Once again, none of the Yamahas made it directly into Q2. The best rider of the brand is Quartararo in 16th place. Bagnaia also fails in the final time attack. He ends Friday in 19th place with a 1.315-second gap to the top. Only the two Pramac riders were slower today.

Bezzecchi snatches the best time from Marc Marquez at the end and narrowly misses a new track record with 1:30.144 minutes. Marc Marquez is second just a tenth of a second behind. Brother Alex takes third place. Di Giannantonio and Morbidelli make VR46 happy in fourth and fifth places.

Acosta, Marini, and Zarco follow behind. Pol Espargaro impresses in his renewed substitute ride for Vinales in ninth. Martin secures the last direct Q2 spot. Bastianini narrowly misses advancing as eleventh. Fernandez and Aldeguer also have to go to Q1 tomorrow.

The last six laps of the session are running and everyone is pushing again. Bastianini has pushed into the top 10 and kicked out championship leader Martin, who is now only eleventh. But he still has all chances. For Bagnaia, however, the direct way into Q2 seems hopeless. He is far behind in 17th place.

The standings are really shaking up now. Everyone has switched to fresh tires and the order changes with every lap. The current interim standings: Marc Marquez, Bezzecchi, Acosta, Marini, Fernandez, Diggia, Aldeguer, Alex Marquez, Zarco, Martin.

The first riders have gone out on fresh tires to hunt times in the fight for Q2. Di Giannantonio sets the pace with 1:30.720 minutes and gets a thumbs up from Valentino Rossi, who is watching from the trackside.

Marc Marquez is fully focused on his race pace and has so far run the session with one set of tires. He is currently in sixth place with a 0.333-second gap.

Bezzecchi has switched to a fresh soft rear tire and sets a new best time. Morbidelli also improves. He moves up to second place on completely fresh tires. The two are separated by only 0.127 seconds.

At the top, it goes back and forth between Alex Marquez and Bezzecchi. After the first run, Marquez leads with 1:30.979 minutes, about one and a half tenths ahead of Bezzecchi and Di Giannantonio. Marc Marquez, Moreira, Fernandez, Morbidelli, Aldeguer, Acosta, and Martin occupy the remaining top 10 places.

The latter has now also switched to the new rear aero from Aprilia, with which Bezzecchi already raced in Aragon and was able to make progress.

After five laps, Alex Marquez leads the standings with 1:31.016 minutes. Bezzecchi is his first pursuer. Diggia, Marc Marquez, and Moreira follow behind. The gaps are tight: 14 riders are separated by only half a second!

The MotoGP now has a whole hour on the track to prepare for the races on the one hand and to qualify directly for Q2 on the other. The conditions are sunny and dry. Up front, everyone is on the medium tire, which also dominates the rear wheel. A few have fitted the soft rear tire.

In the Moto2 afternoon session, Senna Agius sets a new track record with a time of 1:34.142 minutes. Manuel Gonzalez secures second place. David Alonso is third, followed by Collin Veijer and Daniel Holgado.

Tony Arbolino leads the second half of the top 10 ahead of Barry Baltus, Izan Guevara, Alonso Lopez, and Filip Salac. Celestino Vietti, Angel Piqueras, Ivan Ortola, and Alberto Ferrandez also advance directly to Q2 in places eleven to fourteen. In the final phase, there are some crashes: Joe Roberts takes down Adrian Huertas; Jose Antonio Rueda and Mario Aji also go down.

In the first completely dry Moto3 training, David Almansa sets the best time with 1:40.767 minutes ahead of Joel Kelso and Maximo Quiles. Marco Morelli and Rico Samela follow behind. Valentin Perrone, Matteo Bertelle, Eddie O’Shea, Joel Esteban, and Brian Uriarte complete the top 10. The latter causes a scare with a crash in turn 14.

The last four direct Q2 spots go to Casey O’Gorman, Scott Ogden, Veda Pratama, and Adrian Fernandez. Prominent names in Q1 are Adrian Cruces, Guido Pini, and Alvaro Carpe, who did not make it into the top 14.
