(Motorsport-Total.com/Motor1) – The RML Group has unveiled a comprehensively modified vehicle based on the Porsche 911, called the GT Hypercar (internal designation P39). The technical basis is the 992 generation of the Porsche 911 Turbo S, whose platform, drive architecture, and basic layout serve as the starting point for the project.

Based on this, a completely revised vehicle concept was developed, designed for both road use and high-performance operation. On April 25, the RML Group presented another one-off GT Hypercar at the Air / Water event in Costa Mesa, California. The vehicle is inspired by US racing driver Graham Rahal and represents an individually configured version of the P39 concept.
The 4.70-meter-long concept is inspired by the GT1 era of the 1990s in terms of design and technology. This reference is evident in the aerodynamic design, the driving dynamics tuning, and the functional design of the overall vehicle. The goal is a combination of high performance and usable everyday practicality.
The bodywork continues to be based on the 911 architecture, with Porsche genes shining through at the front and rear. However, it has been modified in almost all relevant areas. These include the exterior skin made entirely of carbon fiber, the modified aerodynamics, and adjustments to the chassis and drive system. Visible carbon elements are integrated into air intakes, bumpers, and the rear wing, among other places. The paintwork of the presented vehicle is in a strong orange tone and is complemented by dark rims and color-coordinated brake calipers.
The technical development focuses on a heavily modified 3.8-liter boxer engine with biturbo charging. Depending on the driving mode, the power output ranges from approximately 600 hp in “Wet” mode, around 750 hp in Normal mode, and up to 912 hp in Sport or Track mode. The maximum torque is up to 1,000 Nm at 4,500 rpm, with over 800 Nm already available at 3,000 rpm. Power is transmitted via an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission in conjunction with an all-wheel-drive system, which was adopted and adapted from the series production base.

In addition, active aerodynamic systems are used at the front and rear. Several driving modes are also available, enabling different performance and vehicle characteristics. The exhaust system is made of Inconel and is designed for thermal resilience in high-performance operation.

The driving dynamics are determined by a variable set-up that allows for multiple characteristics. In addition to the performance modes, various aerodynamic and chassis configurations are available. These include a hydraulically adjustable ride height, adaptive damper tuning, and an active aerodynamic system. This includes an adjustable rear wing, an adaptive front splitter, and a driver-activatable Drag Reduction System (DRS) mode.
In the Track set-up, a significantly increased downforce is achieved, which, according to the manufacturer, is well above the level of the standard 911 Turbo S. A time of 6:45 on the Nürburgring Nordschleife is reportedly possible.
The interior follows a functional concept with a clear focus on the driver. Leather and Alcantara surfaces are used in a combination of grey, orange, and black tones. An integrated half steel roll cage underlines the motorsport character. The interior design is geared towards a reduced operating structure and a direct driver environment.
The vehicle is part of an individualized manufacturing approach by the RML Group, where technical base vehicles of the Porsche 911 are transformed into independent high-performance vehicles through extensive development measures. A total of 39 vehicles are planned. The collaboration with Graham Rahal and his environment serves as a design reference point for this specific version.
