Capricorn 01 Tutto Rosso: A Red with 95 Percent

(Motorsport-Total.com/Motor1) – You may have heard of the Capricorn 01 – or maybe not. When we first reported on it last year, we wrote: Such super sports cars are hardly built anymore today – and that’s true.

A supercharged V8 and a manual transmission that sends power directly to the rear wheels are a clear contrast to the now widespread hybrid super sports cars with dual-clutch transmissions and all-wheel drive.

Now Capricorn is showing off a spectacular one-off at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este – a one-of-one, well, 01 – which makes a particular impression if you like the monotone look. The special model is called “Tutto Rosso” – roughly translated from Italian as “all red.” The reason is obvious.

Lots of Red

An impressive 95 percent of this super sports car is painted red. Yes, 95 percent. It starts with the body, complemented by matching red rims, red accents on the body, carbon details, side mirrors – and yes, even the single, centrally mounted windshield wiper is red.

The red continues inside: red leather on the seats, red accents on the dashboard, a center console made of red carbon, a red gear knob, and of course a red steering wheel. Even the engine bay is covered with a red carbon weave.

What is not red? Good question. On the outside, the Capricorn logos on the front and rear are spared from the complete red treatment. Inside, the aluminum housing of the gated shifter is not colored, nor are the seatbelt buckles. Apart from that, hardly anything escapes the red paint.

No Price

Robertino Wild, CEO of Capricorn, says about the build:

“Projects like the Capricorn 01 Zagato Tutto Rosso do not arise solely from styling. They challenge us to rethink how materials, engineering, and aesthetics interact on every level of the vehicle. When a customer approaches us with such a vision, it becomes an opportunity to push our own capabilities further – not only in design but also in how we industrialize and validate such an extreme configuration within our development program.”

As expected, the company does not name a price for this one-off. However, anyone interested in a standard version of the Capricorn 01 must put at least 2.95 million euros on the table. In return, there are 900 hp and a six-speed manual transmission – and thus the rule applies: you get what you pay for.

Monochrome super sports cars can work – or not. But this Capricorn 01 convincingly implements the look. Combined with the powerful engine and gated shifter, the buyer is likely to be very satisfied with their custom-made one-off.
