– The discussion about possible MotoGP promotions for the 2027 season is gaining momentum, and at the center are two names from the current world championship scene: Nicolo Bulega (Superbike World Championship) and Celestino Vietti (Moto2 class). Both Italians express cautious optimism about their chances.

In the context of speculation about a possible spot at VR46-Ducati in MotoGP, Bulega is deliberately reserved but makes no secret that moving up to the premier class remains a long-term goal for him.
“Honestly, I don’t have much to say. It could be a possibility, we are talking about it, but nothing is set in stone yet,” the Italian reveals to GPOne.com.
At the same time, he emphasizes how much he hopes for a promotion: “Of course, I would love it because MotoGP is a dream for everyone, one I’ve had since I was a child. I would wish to get another chance to return to the other paddock – after my time in Moto2.”

Regarding the potential change of his team colors from red to yellow, Bulega is open: “For a MotoGP bike, I would even agree to purple. Any color is okay.” Internally, the 26-year-old has been discussed for weeks as a candidate for a possible Ducati-affiliated MotoGP spot. Officially, however, nothing is confirmed.
Toprak: “He has the level for MotoGP”
Also interesting in this context is the assessment of MotoGP rookie Toprak Razgatlioglu, who knows Bulega well from direct duels in the Superbike World Championship and closely follows his development. His evaluation is clear and significantly more positive than many cautious voices in the paddock.
“I think he deserves MotoGP. He is a really fast rider,” Razgatlioglu judges, highlighting the combination of talent and technical adaptability.

“His riding style is made for MotoGP. If Ducati brings him into MotoGP, he can achieve very special results.” At the same time, Razgatlioglu emphasizes the strategic importance of the current environment: “He grows up with Ducati. So I think it’s better if he goes into MotoGP with Ducati.”
Vietti sees his time running out
Celestino Vietti also clearly states his MotoGP wish. The Moto2 rider, who recently finished second in Mugello, makes it clear that while he is working towards promotion, he does not receive specific performance targets from outside.
“I really want to get there. So I do my best, try to be the best ‘Cele’ to get the chance,” the Italian emphasizes but also clarifies: “No one has told me: You have to achieve this or that result. I think VR46 gives me freedom in that regard, without additional pressure.”
However, this freedom also has a downside. Vietti becomes clear when he talks about the time dimension of his career: “The problem is: If it doesn’t work out in 2027, then the contracts run for two years – two more years.”

“And then the wheel keeps turning, and I’m not so young anymore,” Vietti knows. “It’s a moment when I have to do something for my future.” His goal remains clearly defined: The MotoGP promotion is his central drive.
