A thunderstorm and rainfall hit the area east of Nashville. There were several severe weather warnings, which meant that the spectators on site had to clear the stands. When the thunderstorm had passed, rainfall was the main problem.
In the meantime, the rain stopped briefly and the track was almost completely dried again. But then it started raining again and the forecast for the following hours looked bleak.
In the end, about three hours after the originally planned start time, the decision was made to postpone the race, which had not yet started, completely. The new start time for the Nashville race of the 2026 IndyCar season is converted to Central European Time Monday, 9:00 PM CEST. In Nashville local time, the race will start at 2:00 PM.

Mick Schumacher (Rahal-Honda) will start the 300-lap race from 16th position. From pole will start Kyle Kirkwood (Andretti-Honda), with local hero and last year’s winner Josef Newgarden (Penske-Chevrolet) beside him in the first row (Complete starting grid in Nashville).
