Red Bull Party
Red Bull will take over the Nürburgring Nordschleife tomorrow morning, Saturday, for the “Red Bull Formula Nürburgring”.
From 10 AM to 2 PM, many motorsport legends, some not even from the Red Bull cosmos, will drive legendary cars on the legendary track. Among others, Sebastian Vettel will once again be allowed to drive “Kinky Kylie”, the Red Bull RB7 from the 2011 championship season.
Here you will find all participating drivers and their cars; among others, Gerhard Berger will drive a Ferrari, Ralf Schumacher a Williams, German F1 Academy participant Carrie Schreiner a Formula 4 car, and Formula 1 driver Yuki Tsunoda the Honda NSX GT3 supercar.
The event starts at 10 AM with the drivers’ parade on the Müllenbachschleife, and the grand finale is at 2 PM. The drivers will go onto the track in groups, and due to the large crowd, the organizers recommend arriving early at the Nürburgring.

Time for the Weekend
So, dear Formula 1 fans,
the live ticker is signing off for the weekend. From Monday, it’s full steam ahead towards Singapore, but tomorrow I’ll stop by the Nürburgring to see what Vettel, Coulthard, Berger, Tsunoda and co. conjure up. Maybe we’ll see each other there?

The Next Record?
Max Verstappen is currently chasing records. The Dutchman has surpassed Sebastian Vettel’s victory record in Italy, now standing at ten consecutive wins.
Currently, Vettel is on par with Michael Schumacher, who achieved 15 consecutive top-2 finishes in the 2002 season. With a top-2 result in Singapore, he would also claim this record for himself.

Zandvoort is worth a trip!
Max Verstappen has triggered a real hype around Formula 1 in the Netherlands. All of this culminated in the return of Formula 1 to Zandvoort in 2021. The organizers of the DutchGP therefore invited me to experience it on site.
The Dutch Grand Prix is special. Not only because the Zandvoort circuit is located amidst the dunes and directly on the North Sea, but also because there’s simply a lot going on around it. My trip has now been published as a video on the Formel1.de YouTube channel.
Zandvoort is car-free on race weekends, meaning Formula 1 fans have to arrive by bike, train, or on foot, but they can really let loose in the evenings. In “Kevin alone in Zandvoort”, we also show you how you can even camp directly at the track.

Toto Wolff and Dr. Helmut Marko, a feud that repeatedly offers small highlights for fans, as it did again around the Italian Grand Prix.
After Max Verstappen surpassed Sebastian Vettel’s record with his tenth consecutive victory, Wolff merely offered a snarky comment in his media round: “These numbers are for Wikipedia, and nobody reads that anyway.”
On Sport und Talk im Hangar-7 on ServusTV, Dr. Marko skillfully countered, pointing out an important fact, because “that is the most read medium of all!”

Trick Found
McLaren brought interesting updates for the rear wing last weekend in Monza. The goal: to increase the aerodynamic efficiency of the MCL60 and still overcome air resistance.

It’s Not About Money
Felipe Massa’s plan to challenge the 2008 World Championship decision and enforce in court that the title be awarded to him is gaining considerable momentum.
His lawyer Bernardo Viana told the global edition of Motorsport.com that “the goal is to bring the trophy home” and emphasized: “It’s not about finances.”

Good Stand-in
Liam Lawson currently has the opportunity to prove himself in Formula 1 “thanks to Daniel Ricciardo’s injury.”
The New Zealander had to wait a long time for his chance, is doing really well in the Japanese Super Formula this season with chances for the title, and will probably also be able to apply for a follow-up cockpit in 2024 in Singapore and Japan.

The Scars of Battle
Mulan fans know the headline from the song “A Girl Worth Fighting For”.
Daniel Ricciardo will forever carry the scars from Zandvoort 2023, as we can see in the latest picture on his Instagram channel, several stitches have been placed to close the surgical wound on his hand.
The Australian will probably have to miss the next two races in Singapore and Japan and will therefore only be able to get back behind the wheel of AlphaTauri’s AT04 in Qatar. He himself writes “relatively unchanged” about this picture; we can be curious to see how well the healing process progresses and how unchanged he will be when he sits in the car again.

Plan B for Mick?
In a major Sky interview with Peter Hardenacke, Mick Schumacher spoke clearly for the first time about having to look for an alternative to Formula 1:
“Unfortunately, I have to say yes, there is a Plan B, but I will have to comment on that at some point later.”
What could Plan B be? Schumacher brings experience in single-seater racing from Formula 4, Formula 3, Formula 2, and two years in Formula 1. Additionally, the time he now has this season as a development driver at Mercedes. In single-seater racing, Formula E would definitely be interesting for him, where there are some interesting cockpits available and where he could certainly be successful.
If he were to decide on endurance racing, i.e., looking for a path into WEC, there could be a return to Ferrari, but Alpine is also currently building the LMDh project with the A424 Beta. Schumacher has already been linked with Alpine (Renault) in the context of Formula 1 and could also play an important role within a team in endurance racing.
Same Character
The Singapore track has undergone some changes this year due to construction work in the city. Four corners are missing, but Aston Martin team principal Mike Krack is sure that not everything will fundamentally change now:
“The character doesn’t change much,” he said. “I think it changes a little. If you take away four corners, the track naturally becomes faster. But all in all, I think it has remained the same character, or will be a comparable one.

Podium Still Possible?
At McLaren, the signs point to 2024.
Development on the MCL60 is complete; CEO Zak Brown told Motorsport-Total.com in an exclusive interview that the models for the ’24 car are already in progress, and Andrea Stella has also confirmed: “The focus on development itself has been stopped.”
Nevertheless, the Italian hopes that they can still achieve a podium finish this season; the steps they have taken with the car have certainly been immense over the year.

Not the WWE
Toto Wolff reflected during the Italian Grand Prix on how rule changes are intended to harm dominant teams in Formula 1, incorporating his own experiences from the 2020 season.
“I believe it was the best car we ever had. And then, towards the end of the season, they changed the rules [for 2021] by cutting a piece out of the floor. That was supposed to stop us,” said the Austrian in a media round.
He also drew comparisons to the world’s largest wrestling league, WWE, because Formula 1 needs to be careful not to become scripted. You can find out more about this in the article by my colleague Ruben Zimmermann.

Special Helmet for a Special Race
Sergio Perez will drive his 250th Formula 1 Grand Prix at the Singapore Grand Prix.
His career started in Australia in 2011, then with Sauber, and was very interesting for him. In 2013, he moved to the top team (which was struggling at the time) McLaren, where he couldn’t establish himself. After many years at Force India and Racing Point, the next chance at a top team, Red Bull, followed in 2021.
Perez celebrates this milestone of 250 race entries with a special helmet.
Enthusiasm for Albon
James Vowles was very impressed by the performance of his points-scorer Alexander Albon.
Vowles told the English-language edition of Motorsport.com: “In Monza, there are three or four places where you can very easily lose a position. And indeed, you saw Alex lose his position, but then he immediately put himself back in a position to overtake again.”
