The latest model from the AC Cars manufactory is a reminiscence of the AC A98, which started at Le Mans. This car once reached 185 mph (around 298 km/h) on a public highway and remained a one-off from AC. However, the new Cobra GT Coupé has significantly larger production plans.
AC wants to build more cars in the future – many more. And this new coupé, together with the introduced Cobra GT Roadster, bridges the brand between history and the future.
V8 Power from Ford
AC Cars knows what Cobra customers want: a big, hearty V8 and a lush hip section. This vehicle delivers both in abundance. Up front works a 5.0-liter V8 from Ford, which is optionally available as a naturally aspirated engine or with a supercharger.
The standard version produces 319 kW (434 hp) and delivers 556 Nm, the stronger version reaches 522 kW (710 hp) and 820 Nm. Both engines are optionally available with a 6-speed manual transmission (yes, you read that right) or a 10-speed automatic.

According to AC Cars, the Cobra GT Coupé has a weight distribution of 50:50. The curb weight is around 1,588 kg. The compact powerhouse is said to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds.
How is this supposed to usher in a new era for AC Cars? The manufacturer recently took over a new production facility. This is intended to increase annual production from 100 hand-built vehicles to 1,000 cars per year.
Planned are the coupé, the roadster, and additionally a classic version. The first deliveries of the new coupé are expected to begin in 2028, with models offered in left- and right-hand drive. The entry price is around 315,000 US dollars for the standard engine or 345,000 US dollars for the supercharged version.
