The surprise guest is scheduled for an appearance on August 14, giving visitors only a short time window to see the fierce roofless beast up close. The Brabus Bodo Roadster thus counts among the debuts of the week with a particularly low production number. It also shares the stage with other vehicles in the seven-figure price range as well as prominent auctions.

The premiere takes place right in the middle of Monterey Car Week, when the peninsula fills with collectors who shuttle between exhibitions, rallies, and auction tents. Brabus also uses the week to show the original Bodo hyper-GT, so the previous coupe will likely stand alongside the new convertible.
The core of the Bodo package remains intact with the roadster. Brabus builds it based on the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante, adopts its layout with front engine and rear-wheel drive, and combines it with a full carbon body. Under the hood works a 5.2-liter V12 biturbo engine with 735 kW (1,000 hp) and 1,200 Nm of torque. These key figures correspond to those of the already known hyper-GT.

These values position the Bodo alongside other extremely specified special models on the peninsula and come with a low production number. The Bodo with fixed roof is limited to 77 units and is therefore more of a collector’s edition than a regular tuning package. Brabus has not yet confirmed how many roadsters will be built. Possible production details, the price, and the final technical data are therefore also expected to be revealed on the debut day.

The differences between coupe and roadster are likely to be exciting. It is expected that the convertible will retain the long hood, the massive low-slung grille, and the stretched rear that define the proportions of the Bodo, while an open cockpit will replace the fixed roof and the interior of the Aston Martin Vanquish will essentially remain unchanged.
For all who have followed Aston’s recent appearances during Car Week, including new GT models like the Aston Martin DB12 S, the Bodo Roadster seems like the most extreme expression of this design language – filtered through the deep black, high-performance signature of the Bottrop-based company.
