In third place was Saturday winner Matteo Cairoli (+0.140) in the Emil Frey Ferrari, fourth was Comtoyou-Aston Martin driver Nicki Thiim. The mid-season champion, who was completely frustrated after Saturday’s race and harshly criticized the DTM, returns to the front field with fourth place.
Thiim, whose Aston Martin is ten kilograms lighter due to a change in the Balance of Performance (BoP) and has received more boost pressure, was 0.158 seconds behind the pole.

Manthey-Porsche driver Thomas Preining, who jumped to second place in the overall standings on Saturday with second place, is in eighth place with a deficit of 0.209 seconds.
Maximilian Paul’s replacement Christian Engelhart was not at the start, as his Grasser-Lamborghini was not operational after the collision with Thierry Vermeulen in Saturday’s race. The Starnberg native will also not participate in the race, so the field consists of 20 cars.
