The focus here is primarily on the interior details, one of the strengths of the ID. Cross. It is already available for order at prices starting from 37,450 euros, with the entry price expected to decrease in the coming months with additional variants.
Cockpit and Controls
The cockpit of the ID. Cross is designed to be horizontal and tidy. The two most important screens are aligned on a common line of sight. In front of the driver is a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and in the center of the dashboard sits the infotainment touchscreen with 12.9 inches.
However, Volkswagen does not rely exclusively on touchscreens. In the ID. Cross, numerous physical controls return, allowing central functions and the climate control to be operated.
One of the more unusual features is the retro graphic mode: a graphic mode that visually references Volkswagen models from the 1980s, especially the first Golf, as already seen in the ID.Polo.

The equipment is also extensive. Options include a Harman-Kardon sound system with 425 watts, ten speakers, and a subwoofer. Also available are electrically adjustable front seats with a pneumatic 12-way massage function, memory function for the driver’s seat, and a large panoramic roof.
Materials and Workmanship
One of the most interesting aspects of the interior is Volkswagen’s attempt to place greater emphasis on a high perceived quality.
The “Pure Positive” concept is reflected in fabric covers, soft surfaces, and materials intended to make the interior feel more homely than one would expect from a compact B-SUV.

Of course, the impression of quality and level of workmanship depend on the trim level and options. A particularly well-equipped example can offer a significantly more premium atmosphere than the entry-level version.
The panoramic roof also contributes to the impression of quality and brightness inside. It measures 740 x 905 mm and is combined with an electric roller blind, which further enhances the sense of space on board.
Space and Trunk
Especially in terms of space, the ID. Cross shows one of the most interesting advantages of its electric architecture. The wheelbase and the MEB+ platform enable an interior that is particularly generous relative to the exterior dimensions.
Rear passengers benefit from plenty of legroom and headroom, while the completely flat floor eliminates the classic central tunnel.
The cargo space is also one of the strengths. The trunk holds 475 liters: a very decent value for a B-SUV and about 20 liters more than the T-Cross with an internal combustion engine. Under the load floor, there is also a particularly deep compartment that helps to better store smaller items or things that should not be openly visible.
The loading volume is complemented by a front frunk with 22 liters. This small compartment is mainly intended for the charging cable, thus creating additional space in the main trunk.
