(Motorsport-Total.com/Motor1) – Is that supposed to be a Ferrari? The presentation of the fully electric Luce has sparked a lot of discussions online, including a shitstorm. The Ferrari stock initially dropped by eight percent. The point of contention is the design of the four-door. Many observers see too little Ferrari and too much China here. Or rather, too much insignificance, which hardly evokes any emotions regardless of the 1,050 hp strong drive.

Some, including colleague Padeanu, were even reminded of the current Nissan Leaf by the light blue Luce. This may be due to the similar color of both electric cars. But formally, certain similarities cannot be denied. Certainly: We at Motor1 Germany have not yet seen the Ferrari live. Perhaps the real impression is different.
And of course, the Luce is about 70 centimeters longer than the 4.35-meter-long Leaf. Ergo, the Ferrari flows differently in its proportions according to the motto “length counts,” with more pronounced overhangs at the front and rear. But especially the dome-shaped roofline shows parallels. And not only to the Nissan. The new Alpine A390 (4.61 meters) also spontaneously came to mind. Judge for yourself:

That may be the crux with the Luce. Of course, the designers put a lot of time and work into it, we don’t want to speak ill of that. But the result is not clearly recognizable as a Ferrari. Here a bit of China, there a bit of Tesla Robotaxi plus, as mentioned, Leaf and A390. Only the latter two are significantly cheaper than the roughly 550,000 euro Luce.

Let’s not forget: Owners want to show something with a Ferrari. And they also like to collect Ferrari vehicles up to special custom-made ones. Whether the Luce will be parked away remains open.
The electric Ferrari reminds us of the Aston Martin Cygnet based on the Toyota iQ many years ago. Born out of the necessity of fleet consumption, it was the answer to a question no one asked. Not even 600 units were built in two years. Let’s hope things go better with the Ferrari Luce. But we wouldn’t bet on it.
