How much slower is Formula 1 in 2026

Several drivers have already stated this weekend that Spa particularly highlights the weaknesses of the 2026 Formula 1 regulations. But how much slower has the premier class really become on the “Ardennes rollercoaster”?

In fact, the 2025 pole time was “only” about 3.8 seconds faster than this year, which is not fundamentally a disaster with a completely new regulation. What is truly alarming, however, is the speed difference on the straights.
