Special permission
Since we are just talking about the starting grid: All 22 drivers are allowed to participate in the race today. We have to mention this because Oliver Bearman and Lance Stroll did not set a time in qualifying yesterday – and are therefore actually not qualified.
However, both have received special permission from the FIA because they set times in the practice sessions that would have been fast enough to qualify. This means they are also allowed to start later.

Pole lap
To start the day, let’s watch Lando Norris’s pole lap again in full length. The world champion will start later ahead of championship leader Kimi Antonelli and Max Verstappen. Behind them lurk the two Ferraris.

Raceday!
Hello and welcome to a new edition of our Formula 1 live ticker. We are experiencing another premiere this Sunday, because after yesterday’s qualifying, today is the first time a Formula 1 race is held at the new Madring.
The start in Madrid is at 3:00 PM. So we still have enough time to properly get in the mood for the Grand Prix. As usual, we will be here for you with information, pictures, and voices directly from the paddock in Madrid until the evening.
Ruben Zimmermann will accompany you throughout the day here, and for questions, suggestions, or complaints you can use our contact form, X, Instagram, and YouTube.
Here you can read our live ticker from yesterday again.
