– Racing Bulls driver Arvid Lindblad has explained why the “cliché of the luxurious Monaco lifestyle” holds no appeal for him.

The Formula 1 rookie has made a rapid ascent through the junior categories of motorsport, but according to him, has remained grounded. Lindblad attributes this to his family’s working-class roots and their strong work ethic.
The Briton, with both Swedish and Indian roots, explains why the extravagant lifestyle often associated with Formula 1 drivers does not interest him. “Not everyone has the opportunity to drive in Formula 1, and I am very grateful to have received this chance thanks to my parents’ hard work,” he says.
Origin shapes his perspective
“My father had his first job at eleven years old, while his parents struggled to put three meals a day on the table. […] I come from a family that had to work for everything they had. That has given me an awareness of the world, and that’s why I have no interest whatsoever in the cliché of the luxurious Monaco lifestyle.”
The 18-year-old is also convinced that his friends from home would describe him as “just a normal boy.” “I didn’t have a particularly normal youth,” he explains. “It wasn’t easy, but it was a sacrifice I was always willing to make. I have good friends at home, honestly for the first time in a few years.”

Despite Formula 1, “just a normal boy”
When I have time off, I spend time with my friends and try to be a normal 18-year-old. At the same time, I appreciate that my life is a bit crazy,” explains Lindblad.
“I’m lucky enough to drive some of the coolest cars in the world and do photoshoots. But if you were to ask my friends about me, they’d probably say I’m just a normal boy.”
Lindblad joined the Formula 1 field with Racing Bulls for the 2026 season and has so far scored five points in the first five race weekends, placing him 14th in the drivers’ standings.
