Lynk & Co 07 GT (2027): Sleek Sport Wagon for Europe

(Motorsport-Total.com/Motor1) – Lynk & Co has introduced its first sport-touring model in China with the new Lynk & Co 07 GT. The wagon-like vehicle expands the brand’s product range into a new segment and is expected to be launched in the European market in 2027.

Before the sales launch in Europe, Lynk & Co plans to specifically adapt the model to the local legal framework, regional regulations, and the specific expectations of European customers. Details about the powertrains for Europe have not yet been announced.

The 07 GT is based on the modern CMA Evolution platform (Compact Modular Architecture) of the parent company Geely and uses the state-of-the-art EM-P hybrid architecture. With a length of around 4.85 meters (4,846 mm) and a wheelbase of 2,843 mm, the 07 GT is positioned as a spacious vehicle in the upper mid-size class.

A technical highlight in the chassis area is the active magneto-rheological damping (MRC magnetic suspension), a system otherwise mainly used in sports and luxury cars. Using a predictive road analysis via camera and deep learning algorithms, the system scans the road up to 15 meters ahead. The viscosity of the damper fluid is adjusted via magnetic fields within a reaction time of only one millisecond, enabling an extreme range between dynamic stability and high travel comfort.

Powerful plug-in hybrid powertrains

The Lynk & Co 07 GT is offered in its home market in two power levels with the advanced EM-P plug-in hybrid drive, each based on a 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine with 120 kW (163 hp):

Front-wheel drive (FWD): Here, the combustion engine works together with an electric motor on the front axle, resulting in a system output of 296 kW (402 hp) and a torque of 615 Nm.

All-wheel drive (AWD): The top version integrates an additional electric motor on the rear axle. The combined system output thus increases to 390 kW (530 hp) with a maximum system torque of 765 Nm. This allows the sport-touring model to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in about five seconds.

The energy storage is a lithium iron phosphate battery (LFP) with a gross capacity of 28.3 kWh. This enables a purely electric range of over 200 kilometers according to the Chinese CLTC test cycle; the total range in hybrid mode is stated to be up to 1,422 kilometers. Thanks to an optimized charging curve, the battery can be fast-charged from 30 to 80 percent in about 14 minutes. For additional everyday utility, an optional electrically deployable trailer hitch with a towing capacity of up to 1.6 tons is available.

Infotainment and automated driving functions

The interior is dominated by a digital cockpit consisting of a 10.2-inch instrument display, a central 15.4-inch touchscreen with 2.5K resolution, and a large, high-resolution augmented reality head-up display (AR-HUD). The operating system used is LYNK Flyme Auto 2.5, developed in cooperation with Meizu, powered by modern processors and providing AI computing power of 30 TOPS. A special feature is the physical robot assistant “Eva” on the dashboard, which can handle complex voice commands and facial expressions.

The 07 GT also goes all out in terms of safety and sensor equipment: All model variants come standard with a roof-mounted 128-line LiDAR sensor and a total of 27 additional environmental sensors. Depending on the equipment line, powerful chipsets (Nvidia Orin-Y or the advanced Thor-U processor) control the automated driving functions, enabling even map-independent, highly automated driving in urban areas (Urban NOA) in high-end versions.
