(Motorsport-Total.com/Motor1) – After its world premiere in Seoul (South Korea), the new electric Mercedes C-Class is now available for order. In Germany, prices for the C 400 4MATIC electric start at 56,900 euros (excl. VAT) for business customers and at 67,711 euros (incl. VAT) for private customers. Leasing and financing offers are also available, for example, a monthly leasing rate from 470 euros for private customers.

For comparison: A Mercedes C 300 d sedan with “only” just under 300 hp system output is available from 63,546 euros incl. VAT in the German configurator. Technically, the electric C-Class is based on a dedicated electric architecture with 800-volt technology. The C 400 4MATIC achieves a range of up to 762 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle with a combined energy consumption between 18.5 and 14.1 kWh per 100 kilometers.
The fast-charging capability allows energy to be recharged for up to 325 kilometers within 10 minutes under optimal conditions. In practice, according to Mercedes, distances of over 1,000 kilometers can be covered with only one charging stop. The drive power of the all-wheel-drive model is 360 kW (489 hp) with a maximum torque of 800 Nm.
This enables acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds and a top speed of 210 km/h. Further model variants are announced for the future, including a rear-wheel-drive model with a target range of around 800 kilometers.
The chassis can optionally be equipped with AIRMATIC air suspension and rear-axle steering to increase maneuverability in city traffic and improve stability at high speeds. The body design is characterized by a flat front end and a coupe-like silhouette, with the trunk offering a volume of 470 liters. Additionally, a so-called frunk with 101 liters of capacity is available in the front compartment. The permissible trailer load is specified at up to 1.8 tons.

Inside, the MBUX Hyperscreen forms the central element of operation. With a width of 99.3 centimeters, it extends across the entire cockpit width and is controlled by the new Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS). This system networks the areas of infotainment, comfort, and assistance systems and can be updated via over-the-air updates (OTA).
Standard equipment in the area of driver assistance includes, among others, the DISTRONIC distance cruise control with stop-and-go function as well as a park assistant. Optional packages expand the functionality with Level 2 assistance systems for steering and lane change as well as a 360-degree camera for environmental monitoring.
