After the fifth season stop in Le Mans, there is not much time to catch your breath, because next week the Grand Prix of Catalonia in Barcelona continues directly. And more: After the race weekend, another Monday test is scheduled.

Marc Marquez has been successfully operated on twice in Madrid. The Ducati rider suffered a fracture of the fifth metatarsal bone in his right foot during his highsider in the sprint in France, which has now been stabilized.

In addition, the nine-time world champion underwent a previously planned procedure on his right shoulder. The doctors removed two screws and a bone fragment from an earlier operation in 2019, which had caused complaints again after the Indonesia Grand Prix 2025.

Marquez will stay one more night in the hospital and then begin rehabilitation. As already announced, the Spaniard will not start in Barcelona next week. The timing of his return depends on the healing process in the coming weeks.

The Grand Prix of France again caused an enormous crowd in 2026. A total of 311,638 fans flocked to the track over the race weekend. This year’s event is thus just below the previous all-time record.

Already on Friday, 101,537 visitors were counted, on Saturday another 97,934 fans joined. The race day itself finally attracted 112,167 spectators to the Circuit Bugatti in Le Mans. This confirms the France Grand Prix once again as one of the absolute crowd highlights in the MotoGP calendar.

Daniel Holgado was subsequently excluded from the result of the Moto2 race at the France Grand Prix. As the FIM stewards announced, it was found during the technical post-race inspection that the Spaniard completed the entire race without a front fender.

This violated Article 2.5.4.7.7 of the Moto2 regulations, which states that a homologated aero fender must remain mounted at all times. The race commissioners therefore imposed disqualification from the Grand Prix classification. Holgado had finished the restarted race after a red flag in eleventh place.

Jorge Martin (Aprilia/1st): “It’s incredible. I don’t even know what to say. I am so, so grateful to the fans. But of course, I also have to think of my family, my team, my girlfriend, my dog, and all the people who were with me during this difficult time. I have no words. So thank you, thank you. Today was a good race and I really enjoyed it.”

Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia/2nd): “It was a very, very tough race, extremely long. I knew I wasn’t the strongest, so I did my best. Honestly, I don’t even know how I managed to lead for three quarters of the race because my pace was not good and I didn’t feel comfortable.”

“All weekend I had a bit of trouble. I never really felt good with the bike. So that was the maximum I could achieve. I really gave everything to get this result, and I am very happy. Thanks to the whole team, congratulations to Jorge, and now we focus on Montmelo.”

Ai Ogura (Trackhouse-Aprilia/3rd): “What can I say, it just feels incredible. The race was really tough. I tried to attack from the start, but I lost a few positions and had to fight back. It was not an easy race, but my pace towards the end was good. I am super, super happy about the race and about my guys. Now it’s time to celebrate.”

In the world championship, Bezzecchi now has only a one-point lead over Martin after this race weekend, who has established himself as a title contender at the latest with his double victory. Di Giannantonio is already 44 points behind the leader in third place.

Zarco, after his wet-weather win last year, this time does not get beyond eleventh place. Behind him, Rins, Razgatlioglu, Morbidelli, and Miller collect the last points. Folger comes up empty in his comeback as 16th. His gap to Miller is 37 seconds. He is more than a minute behind the winner.

After the sprint, Martin also wins the Grand Prix race in Le Mans. It is his first Sunday win since his title season in 2024. Bezzecchi can hold second place. Ogura becomes third and celebrates his first MotoGP podium. For Aprilia, a historic result, as the manufacturer has never before occupied all podium places.

Acosta loses fourth place in the last meters to Di Giannantonio. Quartararo is a strong sixth, followed by Bastianini, Fernandez, Aldeguer, and Marini.

The third lap begins and Martin attacks in turn 3. It is a clean maneuver with which the 2024 world champion takes the lead. He can immediately pull away, while more trouble threatens Bezzecchi from behind. Because Ogura is not far away. Can the world championship leader hold on to second place until the finish?

At the start of the fifth-last lap, Ogura passes Acosta and is on podium course. It looks like a pure Aprilia podium in Le Mans. But who wins still has to be seen. Martin is close to Bezzecchi. It will be a team-internal fight for the victory.

The field shrinks further as Binder also crashes in turn 7. He was just outside the top 10. Meanwhile, his teammate Acosta has to fear for third place. Because Ogura has passed Diggia and is closing in fast.

Martin currently has the better pace. He takes crucial tenths off Bezzecchi every lap. An attack is probably only a matter of time.

Further back, another Aprilia is turning up. Ogura is driving similarly strong times as Martin and is putting pressure on Di Giannantonio in fifth place. Behind him, Mir has caught Quartararo but now throws away sixth place and crashes.
