Next stop: Hungary!
With the race weekend in Mugello, the first part of a doubleheader is completed. Next week, the next Grand Prix in Hungary continues. Balaton Park celebrated its premiere in the premier class just last year. Back then, Marc Marquez was the big winner.
This year, the cards are reshuffled. We will be back on time for the first practice sessions on Friday with a new ticket edition!

Mugello records spectator record
The Grand Prix of Italy in Mugello set a new spectator record this year. A total of 178,723 fans followed the race weekend at the traditional circuit.
Already before the actual weekend, 33,048 visitors were counted. On Saturday, 57,050 spectators streamed to the track, while on race day even 88,625 fans were on site. This made Mugello the highest attendance in its history.
MotoGP: Penalty for Fernandez
Similar to Razgatlioglu, Fernandez loses a position retroactively and thus falls back to ninth place in the standings, but not because of track limits, rather due to contact with another rider. We have no further information on this so far.
Bezzecchi: “Dreamed of it as a child”
Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia/1st): “It’s incredible. I’ve dreamed of this since I was a child. To realize this dream now is simply fantastic. [In Italian:] Mugello, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Today we gave everything and had a lot of fun. Thanks to all of you, you are fantastic. A kiss to you!”
Martin: “Continue positive trend”
Jorge Martin (Aprilia/2nd): “I am very, very happy. The team did a fantastic job throughout the weekend. I tried to regain my confidence, but I still had some difficulties this weekend. We have to keep working.”
“At the same time, I am very grateful to Aprilia for the work done. Marco was impressive today. Congratulations to him, because winning in Mugello is certainly something very special for him. We have to continue this positive trend now.”
Bagnaia: “We earned it”
Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati/3rd): “This podium belongs to the fans here. It was really tough because I had big problems with rear grip in the last laps. I saw that the Aprilias and also Bezzecchi did a fantastic job. I just tried not to leave Ai any gap. Many thanks to all the fans and to my team, who did a great job. We earned such results.”

MotoGP: Update on Crutchlow
Crutchlow did not retire early from the Grand Prix due to a technical problem. As his LCR Honda team reports, a muscle tear was detected on Sunday morning in the area of the left shoulder blade, which is due to the stresses and strains of the past days.
Despite the injury, the 40-year-old started the race but had to give up after ten laps. Although he was aware that the full race distance would be a big challenge under these circumstances, he still wanted to compete in the race, according to LCR.

MotoGP: The remaining positions
Acosta leads the second half of the top 10 ahead of Marquez, Fernandez, Aldeguer, and Moreira. Binder, Mir, Marini, Morbidelli, and Mir secure the last points positions. Razgatlioglu, still 15th at the finish, loses a position retroactively because he exceeded track limits on the final lap.
Vinales, Quartararo, and Pirro also come up empty in positions 17 to 19. Bastianini, Crutchlow, and Rins do not see the checkered flag.
MotoGP: Bezzecchi celebrates home victory
Bezzecchi can’t be matched in this race. He wins with a 3.559-second lead over teammate Martin and celebrates his first home victory in Mugello. Bagnaia successfully fends off a late attack from Ogura, preventing an Aprilia trio on the podium. Di Giannantonio rounds out the top 5.
MotoGP: Who will make the podium?
Leader Bezzecchi is hardly visible in this race. He laps alone at the front and now has a three-second lead.
Martin and Bagnaia hold the remaining podium places. However, Bagnaia must be careful, as Ogura is closing in. It could get tight on the last lap. Can he hold third place to the finish?
MotoGP: Ogura fourth
Ogura once again shows a strong final phase and overtakes Acosta after Marquez. However, contact occurs, and Acosta loses part of his aero. Shortly after, Diggia also passes him.
MotoGP: Final phase
The last five laps are on the clock. Bezzecchi leads two seconds ahead of Martin. Bagnaia holds third place and is currently not losing too much to the pursuers, led by Acosta. Marquez has lost further positions to Ogura and Diggia.
MotoGP: Bagnaia loses
Bagnaia has used up his powder and is now also easy prey for Martin. This gives us an Aprilia one-two. The question is: Can Bagnaia hold on to third place? The lead over the pursuers is just under four seconds. Acosta has finally found a way past Marquez there.
