– Ross Brawn takes on a role in a MotoGP team for the first time. The Pramac-Yamaha team has announced that the 71-year-old Briton is joining the board of the racing team.

In this role, Brawn will act as a strategic advisor to team principal Paolo Campinoti, bringing his extensive experience from the highest levels of motorsport.
“I am very proud to welcome Ross to Pramac,” says Campinoti. “Beyond his extraordinary career and successes in Formula 1, Ross is someone with whom I have shared a friendship for many years.”
“Our relationship is marked by the greatest respect. I am convinced that his vision, knowledge, and winning mentality will make a valuable contribution to the further growth and development of Pramac.”
Brawn’s motorsport career spans more than four decades. He was mainly active in Formula 1 and contributed to winning a total of 22 world championship titles in his career – 11 constructor titles and 11 driver titles.
“I am very pleased,” says Brawn, “to join the board of Pramac in a non-operational role. Motorsport has always been about people, teamwork, and continuous improvement.”

Pramac won the world championship title in 2024 with Jorge Martin. The team also won the team championship that year. With this highlight, the collaboration with Ducati ended. Since 2025, Pramac has been Yamaha’s satellite team.
Brawn is considered one of the most influential figures in modern Formula 1. The Briton worked his way up from mechanic and aerodynamicist to technical mastermind.
He was instrumental in the successes of Benetton, Ferrari, Honda, BrawnGP, and Mercedes. The collaboration with Michael Schumacher, when Ferrari shaped one of the most dominant phases in Formula 1 history, was famous.
But Brawn has also written his own history. In 2009, he led the team taken over from Honda as BrawnGP sensationally to both world championship titles.
Later, he laid the foundation for the next era of success at Mercedes. In his role as Formula 1 sporting director, he also shaped important technical and sporting reforms and helped strategically develop the premier class further.
