The “Double-Header” will take place in weather quite typical for this time of year. With highs just under 20 degrees Celsius, it will even be reasonably warm. The weather on Saturday is expected to be somewhat better than on Sunday, when rain is forecast.
Germany will mostly be under high pressure influence in the second half of the week, which brings stable weather. However, since it is a surface high, clouds will still be present at higher altitudes. This means that the sun will only partially break through, but it also prevents cooling at night.
This results in almost perfect weather for racing: The morning qualifying on Saturday will start at around ten degrees Celsius, then it will quickly get warmer. By race start, temperatures are expected to reach 18 to 20 degrees. The highs currently range between 20 and 23 degrees in the models – always with fairly dense cloud cover that only occasionally lets the sun shine through.

On Sunday, the weather situation will change as a low-pressure trough from the north takes over. It is still unclear how far south it will advance. It is quite possible that the Nürburgring will be in a transition zone where it could rain.
For the morning qualifying, it might even be a bit warmer than on Saturday due to denser cloud cover, but the highs will at best barely reach 20 degrees according to current forecasts.
Everything will depend on how far south the low-pressure trough advances. If it remains further north, conditions would be similar to Saturday. If it moves further south, the weather will be changeable. If the Nürburgring stays on the air mass boundary, it could rain continuously. Therefore, it makes sense to keep following the weather forecast for Sunday in the coming days.
