(Motorsport-Total.com/Motor1) – With the Coaster 407, Rieju enters the cruiser segment. The new model combines classic custom looks with modern technology and relies on an unusual concept. Instead of a classic manual transmission, an automated six-speed transmission is used. It also features a V2 engine, belt drive, and assistance systems that are not necessarily expected in this class.

The heart of the Coaster 407 is a liquid-cooled 384.5 cc V2 with eight valves. It produces 34.6 hp at 8,250 rpm and develops 36 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. This makes the cruiser compliant with the requirements of the A2 driving license class. The power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a low-maintenance belt drive. Rieju specifies a top speed of 155 km/h.
Particularly interesting is the automated AMT transmission. The rider can either let the six gears shift automatically or intervene manually via shift paddles. Rieju completely dispenses with a clutch lever and foot shifter. This is intended to make the Coaster especially accessible to beginners and relaxed touring riders.
Low seat height and modern equipment
With a seat height of only 690 millimeters and a dry weight of 180 kilograms, the Coaster 407 is said to be easy to handle. Stability is ensured by a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel with a wide 180 tire. At the front, a 300-millimeter disc with a Nissin dual-piston caliper provides braking, while a 240-millimeter disc works at the rear. ABS and traction control are standard features.
The Spanish model also shows surprisingly modern equipment. Standard features include a digital LCD display, keyless system, full LED lighting, USB-A and USB-C ports, as well as smartphone connectivity. The 16-liter tank is also intended to allow longer stages without frequent refueling stops.

Price under 5,000 euros
Rieju positions the Coaster 407 as an easily accessible cruiser with modern technology and classic appearance. In Spain, the model starts at a price of 4,961 euros. In Germany, the official website lists a price of 5,490 euros plus delivery costs.

Even though it sounds like yet another Chinese new brand: Rieju is one of the most traditional motorcycle manufacturers in Spain. The company, based in Figueres in Catalonia, has been building motorcycles since the 1940s and is especially known for light motorcycles, enduros, and supermotos.
