Dodge’s most powerful Charger Sixpack to date arrives for the 2027 model year – with more power, sharper handling, and a range of upgrades for track use that aim to make it the most powerful version of the series so far.

The new Charger Super Bee delivers 600 hp and develops 720 Nm from a revised version of the well-known 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder with biturbo charging. Power is transmitted via an eight-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel drive is standard. Wait a minute – no mile-long smoke clouds and wild drifts in a performance Charger? Not so fast, friends. There is a new rear-wheel drive mode that allows all available torque to be sent to the rear wheels.

The increased power comes from two larger Garrett Motion turbochargers with a diameter of 56 millimeters, which push 7.5 percent more air through the engine. Maximum torque now arrives at 3,000 rpm and remains until 5,900 rpm.

More cooling for track use

In addition to changes to the engine, the new Charger variant also receives extensive improvements in cooling and aerodynamics – according to Dodge, the most track-focused Super Bee to date. The cooling capacity of the high-temperature radiator increases by more than 50 percent, and the capacity of the low-temperature circuit has more than doubled.

The Super Bee features a standalone front end and revised headlights, which increase airflow by 30 percent and generate more than 45 kilograms of downforce at 150 mph. Additional radiators are located in the corners of the front bumper, while newly designed and repositioned components in the front end create space for further cooling hardware and air ducts.

Added are an extended front splitter and a new, larger performance rear spoiler.

Dodge has optimized nearly every relevant component for more performance. The manufacturer speaks of a “comprehensive thermal management strategy” developed specifically for the Super Bee.

Traction and chassis

The 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee rides on 11×20 inch forged wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 tires in size 305/35ZR20. Behind them are ventilated 16.0-inch Brembo brakes front and rear. Fixed calipers with six pistons in front and four pistons in the rear are installed.

The Super Bee Launch Edition also receives a suspension package with new adaptive dual-valve dampers including Continuous Damping Control (CDC). The bushings of the front tension links are 25 percent stiffer, those of the front handling links even 50 percent, which should reduce understeer.

The rear stabilizer is 20 percent stiffer, while the spring rates increase by 12 percent in front. At the rear, the spring rates increase by six percent.

More performance via software

To make the best use of the additional power of the Charger, Dodge installs new driving modes. New are a Track Mode and a Drag Mode, which take on exactly the tasks their names suggest.

The Drag Mode reduces the rebound damping at the front axle and increases the compression damping at the rear to maximize power transfer. The Track Mode features special settings, including adjusted traction and stability control, a more direct steering characteristic, and higher shift points.

Torque Reserve is also back on board and improves launch control. If the driver holds the brake and simultaneously presses the accelerator, the system increases airflow and delays ignition timing. This limits torque at the wheels while the turbochargers build pressure. When the driver releases the brake, the reserved torque is released, reducing turbo lag.

Additionally, the Super Bee is the first Charger Sixpack with the Race Prep function. Here, the electric radiator fan continues to run after the engine is turned off to cool the drivetrain.

Dodge also places a button for the rear-wheel drive mode directly on the new steering wheel. This allows 100 percent of the available torque to be sent to the rear wheels while driving. Alternatively, the Line-Lock function can also be activated.

Exterior and interior

When the Super Bee Launch Edition hits the market, it will be available in the new exterior color SuckerPunch – a yellow-green tone. Also new for 2027 is the color Shady.

If that doesn’t appeal, Dodge also offers Diamond Black, combined with SuckerPunch accents such as on the rear spoiler and front bumper. Added are exclusive graphics and a new Super Bee logo.

Inside, there are new seats with specific branding. Also included are a new performance leather steering wheel with its own button for the rear-wheel drive mode and larger shift paddles. Each unit also carries a special plaque on the instrument panel.

Price and availability

Dodge plans to announce prices for the 2027 model year Charger Super Bee later this year. Details on ordering and availability will follow then. Whether the performance model will also come to Germany remains to be seen.
