Teams and other stakeholders from the MotoGP paddock are among those who vote on the award. In a special year, the choice fell on the Dutch classic: in 2025, the Grand Prix celebrated 100 years of motorsport history in the region.

The TT Circuit Assen has been part of the calendar since 1949, the first season of the Motorcycle World Championship. No other venue has hosted as many premier class Grands Prix.

For the anniversary, more than 200,000 fans flocked to the track, setting a new attendance record. The weekend offered not only thrilling racing but also an extensive supporting program off the track, making it one of the largest sporting events in the Netherlands.

Focus on Sport, Fans, and Entertainment

Arjan Bos, Chairman of the TT Circuit Assen, sees the award as confirmation of the concept behind the event: “This award is a great compliment to everyone who makes the Dutch Grand Prix possible.”

“We built the event on three pillars: putting the sport at the center by offering teams and riders the best possible service, providing fans with an outstanding experience including hospitality, and creating additional entertainment that makes the weekend unique.”

Great Recognition from MotoGP

MotoGP CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta also pays tribute to Assen’s role on the calendar: “Assen has a special place in the hearts of many MotoGP fans, and you immediately understand why. The track is now a modern facility with very high standards that allows for great racing. At the same time, its history speaks for itself.”

Ezpeleta also highlights that the circuit continues to see increasing spectator numbers and that the event is constantly being developed, which explains why the “highly contested award” went to the TT Circuit Assen this time.
