– Sebastien Ogier has confirmed that he and co-driver Julien Ingrassia are doing well under the circumstances after their serious accident at the Rally Finland, the tenth round of the 2026 World Rally Championship (WRC). However, the two Frenchmen had to spend the past night in a hospital for observation.

“Unfortunately, we went off the road today on the 17th special stage. Julien and I both went to the hospital for some examinations and will stay overnight as a precaution after the heavy impact. But we both feel good, and that is the most important thing,” Ogier wrote on his social media channels on Saturday evening.
Ogier and Ingrassia, who replaced Ogiers’ regular co-driver Vincent Landais in Finland, were just before the finish of the 17th special stage when their Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 went off the track at high speed. The vehicle rolled several times between some trees. What exactly caused the accident is still unclear.
Toyota had confirmed shortly after the accident that both Ogier and Ingrassia were able to leave the car on their own and that they were “doing well under the circumstances” before being taken to the hospital for precautionary examinations. Until the accident, Ogier had been leading the rally confidently.

“Of course, this is not what we hoped for this weekend, especially after it had gone so well so far,” Ogier writes. “But the main thing is that we are all in one piece. So a big thank you to the team for building such a stable car.”
“I also have to thank Julien Ingrassia, who took such good care of me immediately after the impact and reassured my family that I am okay,” Ogier said about his long-time co-driver, with whom he won eight of his nine world titles.
“We will now rest a bit and make sure to get back to full strength soon. Thanks for all the messages we have received,” Ogier continued. “Good luck to my teammates. Bring it home, guys!”
Ogier’s teammate Sami Pajari took over the lead at Rally Finland after the accident. He goes into the last two special stages on Sunday with a 46.4-second lead over Oliver Solberg.
