American Truck Simulator: New Video and Release Date for the Illinois DLC

(MST/Speedmaniacs.de) – Just over 15 months after SCS Software announced the Prairie State of Illinois as a new expansion for American Truck Simulator, the time has come in a few days. At the end of April, the developer studio released a new video and current screenshots that provide an insight into the diverse landscapes, sights, industries, and cities and announced the exact date.

Owners of the truck and transport simulation will be able to purchase the add-on from Thursday, May 14, 2026, to experience the bustling streets of Chicago with its skyscrapers and a complex road network, as well as tours through the vast agricultural areas.

With the release of Illinois, the legendary Route 66 will also be drivable across the entire map. From its western starting point to its eastern end, drivers can experience this legendary highway in its full length and enjoy the sights, history, and atmosphere that have made it a worldwide symbol.

There are also plenty of jobs available, as the state is a leader in export, agricultural production, and manufacturing, being located both in the old industrial belt and the fertile agricultural heart of the country.

In addition to the official Illinois video trailer, there is also a second detailed gameplay video. The starting point of an extensive, approximately 38-minute tour is a construction site in the heart of Chicago. The drive leads through downtown with various sights and offers breathtaking views of the city skyline. From there, it continues on Interstate 57 southwards to cross the picturesque landscapes of Illinois and finally reach a marina near the city of Marion.
