(Motorsport-Total.com/Motor1) – Three meters long, four seats, and a decidedly pragmatic approach: The Dacia Hipster could become one of the most interesting projects of the Romanian brand. Based on the patents submitted by Dacia and the concept presented in 2025, we created our rendering to show what the production version of the model could look like.

The Hipster adopts the basic idea of the eponymous study: an ultra-compact, simple, light, and affordable electric car primarily intended for urban mobility. The production model could come to market during 2027, at a price in the range of 12,000 to 15,000 euros.
Simple and angular
The production version could largely adopt the very angular style of the prototype. In our rendering, the body is therefore characterized by very vertical surfaces, pronounced wheel arches, and extremely short overhangs.
The length of about 3 meters and the width of 1.55 meters result in unusual proportions: the hood is extremely short, while the passenger cell occupies most of the body.
One of the most surprising aspects of the Hipster, however, concerns the space offered. Despite its dimensions, the project is designed to carry four people, and the production version is likely to retain this feature.
The extremely compact proportions suggest use more in an urban environment than classically family-oriented: four people can cover short distances, while the short body significantly facilitates parking and maneuvering in city centers.
The trunk is also interesting: estimates indicate a loading volume of around 70 liters, which could grow to about 500 liters with the rear seats folded down.

A Dacia that is meant to be affordable
The central point of the Hipster project, however, is the price. Dacia seems to want to apply the same philosophy to electromobility that made the brand famous: leave out everything that is not absolutely necessary and focus on truly useful functions.

Even the concept showed particularly simple solutions, such as bench seats, a reduced dashboard, and the use of the driver’s smartphone instead of a classic multimedia system. The numerous YouClip mounting points also emphasized the possibility of personalizing the interior with simple, modular accessories.
Equally important is likely to be weight reduction. According to the available information, the goal is to keep the Hipster at around 800 kg in the configuration intended for the automotive market. Final data on battery and motor have not yet been announced.
A low weight ultimately means lower consumption and allows the use of a comparatively small battery. For a model mainly intended for the city, this does not have to be a disadvantage: a range in the order of 140 to 150 km could be sufficient for most daily trips.
