(Motorsport-Total.com/Motor1) – The Stellantis group has presented its strategy plan for the years up to 2030. It is called “FaSTLAne 2030” and reveals some exciting details. By 2030, the group plans more than 60 new launches and 50 significant model updates across all brands and powertrains.

Among them are 29 battery electric vehicles, 15 plug-in hybrid or range-extended electric vehicles, 24 hybrid electric vehicles, and 39 vehicles with combustion or mild hybrid drive. One of these comes from Fiat. A brand that will play in the top league of the group in the future.
Grizzly will become an official name. Fiat confirmed this when presenting the new Stellantis plan. The slides clearly show the image of the SUV derived from the Grande Panda – also as a fastback variant.
The name explained
This confirms what had already been hinted at in recent months: A teaser published by Fiat on social networks with the phrase “Make room for everyone” and some footprints in the snow had provided the first clues about the name Grizzly. The bear-like name aligns with Panda and Grande Panda.
The new Grizzly models are to be built in Morocco and will be based on the Smart Car platform, which is already used in the Fiat Grande Panda. The wheelbase will be longer, and a new cockpit layout is planned to further differentiate the model from its smaller sibling.

In addition to the standard version, as seen on the Stellantis slide, a fastback with a more steeply sloping roofline is also planned – a solution that is becoming increasingly common in more compact, dynamically positioned SUVs. Furthermore, the Grizzly is expected to be available with up to seven seats, like the technically related Citroën C3 Aircross. With the new model, Fiat is targeting the Dacia Duster.
From 20,000 euros
According to the presentation, the entry price is expected to be around 20,000 euros, positioning the model in the particularly affordable segment of the European market.
Although Fiat has not yet announced official technical data, the technology of the Grizzly (which we at Motor1 had already previewed with an exclusive rendering) is likely directly derived from that of the Grande Panda or C3 Aircross. Accordingly, the 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine in its latest version with timing chain is considered a given – either as a pure combustion engine with 101 hp (74 kW) and manual transmission or as a hybrid with automatic transmission in variants with 110 hp (81 kW) or 145 hp (107 kW).
An electric version is also expected. Here, 113 hp (83 kW), batteries with 44 or 52 kWh, and homologated ranges of over 300 km and over 400 km respectively are anticipated.
