– On Monday, the starting signal was given for the infamous Isle of Man TT. Initially, the first training sessions for the Supersport and Supertwin classes ran smoothly. This also applied to the first sidecar training.

Subsequently, the first training for the Superbike and Superstock classes had to be stopped at 1:30 PM local time. An accident had occurred in the Ramsey area. The qualifying sessions in the afternoon were canceled.
The organizers immediately initiated the rescue chain. In the accident, one rider and several spectators were injured. Eight spectators had to be taken to the hospital. According to the organizers, all were conscious.
In a statement from the organizer, it says: “The incident occurred at the exit of Parliament Square and involved a single rider as well as several spectators.”
“The rider was taken to Noble’s Hospital, is reportedly conscious and responsive, but suffered leg injuries and continues to receive medical care.”
“Eight spectators also had to be treated. All were conscious and were taken to Noble’s Hospital for further examination and treatment.”

“According to the event’s standard procedures, an investigation was initiated involving race control, medical personnel, and security forces.”
“The officials of the Isle of Man TT thank the marshals, medical teams, emergency services, Manx Care, and all involved who supported the handling of the incident.”
It was not disclosed which rider was involved. It is also unclear how many other spectators besides the eight hospitalized were affected by the accident.

The motorcycle is said to have crashed into the track boundary of a spectator area at the intersection of Albert Road and Waterloo Road after the fall. The track boundary was apparently pushed into the spectator area.
